$24,000 FIRM

---------------------------------------------------------
I purchased this FJ close to 4 years ago. The prior owner was from Texas and did a cosmetic refurbishment (2013-2015) that included a a bare metal repaint inside and out, new weatherstripping and rubber trim, and new badging. The paint is a factory color scheme and the interior has a bed liner sprayed on the floor and sides.
It's powered by a factory 2F 4.2 liter inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual transmission w/ 135hp when new. It has a 2" lift with Atturo Blade A/T tires. The rig is mechanically sound as I have put close to $12K into it since I bought it - inclusive of clutch, starter, rebuilt front end, ,wheel bearings, master cylinder, gas tank +++ . All work was done by Landcruiser NW in Portland. Mechanically it's in great shape to add to the body refurbishment done by the prior owner. I have put 9K on it since I have owned it. The odometer reads 98K but recently stopped - the prior owner couldn't certify the miles when I bought it at 90K.
The price is not negotiable.

And if my eyes are correct, it has AC.....bonus!

Was almost ready to bust my budget for this one as it checks a lot of the right boxes: ‘75-78, Sky Blue, original engine, etc.

Contacted the owner and he has no details from the restoration. He bought it off BAT. Speedo/odometer doesn’t work, A/C doesn’t work, and has some rust showing up on the rear sill.

Still seems like a decent rig, but the issues above coupled with the aftermarket seats, rhino lined interior, and engine compartment have ruled it out for me.

Am I being too picky?

Not to picky. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to change, if changes are even possible. Factor that into your price. I feel like half of these sellers either don’t have info or can’t be bothered to share the info. One guy asked me if we “were
done” after 3 questions.

It is a beautiful car - another one will come along but maybe price can be adjusted for the issues. If you know what it would cost to fix, shoot him a fair offer.

Here's the BAT auction, sold for 24k in 2016
