Softopper and bimini are on order. Nice that both can fit at the same time. Less than a minute from full cover to bimini and then another minute to full open top.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing how this turns out! We had a '79 Scout II when I was a kid, I have fond memories of it and have always liked old IH stuff.

Front King's arrived. Took a bit to get the stroke and orientation for these. Rears are on build with a 4-8 week lead.

Finished taking items off axles and will send them to the blaster on Monday. 45+ years of caked on crude. I wire wheeled for about 20 minutes and said the hell with it... Blaster can take it down faster and better. I have to fully rebuild both anyway.

Pete and Damian came in this morning to prep the wheels for paint. Hope to go in and shoot these in the morning. Let them cure for a few days and then mount the tires.

Tore the axles down and what a mess. Crap from the beyond inside them. Sent them off to the hot tanker to be cleaned and bore swept. Having them press new Spicer joints in the front as well.

Oil was like tar. Thick gooey mess with hard oil/dirt balls. This truck sat for years in the Nevada desert and no doubt it wasn't maintained the best either.

Probably overkill but with the new axle shafts, seals, bearings, gears and LSD I don't what that in there.

It's just me.

Well Advanced Adapters strikes again.... These ***IN guys. Talk to them and tell them what I have... YEP, YEP.... OH YES.

So the adapter for the 4L70 to Atlas only works with a 4wd transmission even though they said it would work with the 2wd.

Remedies
1) Buy a new transmission (4K)=== NOPE

2) Change output shaft from 2WD to 4WD (1200.00) === NOPE

3) Make a spacer (283.00 for materials and shipping ) === WAITING ON A BLOCK OF ALUMINUM NOW

Housings are back, 3.73 gears set up with Eaton TruTrac out back.

Made new 1" offset spring perches and modified the front PS casting. Set the caster up a little as well.

New Spicer cast covers installed.

Will get these built out next week and get the rolling chassis done.
