More pics

Here are some more pics I took today. Tub is on now and starting to take shape. The stance is looking pretty impressive with the 2.5" lift and the 33" BFGs.

Enjoy one on me!

I am in Fort Smith too. I used to see this 40 parked in a drive way in town, and I noticed it has not been there for a while. Glad to know it is being redone. I would love to see this once it is complete and ask you some questions. I have a red 71 FJ40 that I would like to restore in the near future.

Thanks,
Jeff

Looks great! Did not see this build before...but in case you haven't ordered some parts you asked about:
-Weatherstripping - get it from Toyota or you'll be doing it twice. Call cruiser Dan at American Toyota in Albuquerque
-Fenders - again Toyota has these new
-Wheel color - looks like the factory color, so I'd say stick with it!

Can't wait to see it completed!

This might be my favorite build yet. I love the paint and I love those wheels. It's time I get my 77 into a shop. Just need to find one now. I think I will be following your lead.:hhmm:

Well the time has finally come. I believe I will be driving the "new" FJ 40 home tomorrow just in time for Thanksgiving. And what an experience it has been. The expected 2 1/2 month project has turned into about 7 months -- but after seeing the final product, the extra time was well worth it. For those of you who have performed the work yourself, day in and day out, and the level of detail you documented - cheers to you and much respect. Although I outsourced the work, I can say I was in the shop everyday (and a lot of times twice a day) watching the progress. The excitement of watching the build and seeing the progress in the various stages was quite addicting.

There are still a couple of items that I need to take care of to be finished, but for now I need to get her home.

Open items include:
• HD Headlight wiring harness
• Rebuild Brake Booster
• Radio and speakers
• Spare tire rubs tub when rack is open (need a fix)
• And most importantly - she needs a name

I’m sorry I don’t have finished pictures now, but I will post in the next couple of days.

Thanks to all.

L J

Very nice! You're missing a tow hook...;)

bought a 73 new in 73 and it was 3600.00 seems like quite a jump in 5 years .good luck with your rebuild.
