I am selling my 1978 BJ40 with the 'B' motor. I do not have the time to fix what needs to be done to get her back on the road again. I was in the process of rebuilding the transfer case when I found out the output shaft on my transmission was worn. From there I purchased a used transmission and transfer case with an approximate 70k miles on the unit.
My stock transmission is a H41 with the unit purchased came out of a 1978 FJ40 lending it to be a H42. I had planned on switching out the stock unit with the one purchased but I soon found out that the input shaft did not mate to my diesel.
All that needs to be done is a rebuild kit from SOR for about $320, use the good output shaft from the unit purchased and put everything back together.
The cruiser comes with:
-2-bench style rear seats that come with the vinyl covers (I never had them re-upholstered)
-A/C that came when purchased (believe it is aftermarket, ran supr cold when it was in the Cruiser)
-Complete transmission and transfer case I purchased for the repairs
-new floor panel for drivers side (where it has rusted)
The motor runs great, I have recently installed new glow plugs, water pump and radiator. It has rust but nothing that can't be fixed or too major with the exception of the floor panel.
I am working on getting pictures up but have had trouble.
