I am selling my 1978 BJ40 with the 'B' motor. I do not have the time to fix what needs to be done to get her back on the road again. I was in the process of rebuilding the transfer case when I found out the output shaft on my transmission was worn. From there I purchased a used transmission and transfer case with an approximate 70k miles on the unit.

My stock transmission is a H41 with the unit purchased came out of a 1978 FJ40 lending it to be a H42. I had planned on switching out the stock unit with the one purchased but I soon found out that the input shaft did not mate to my diesel.

All that needs to be done is a rebuild kit from SOR for about $320, use the good output shaft from the unit purchased and put everything back together.

The cruiser comes with:

-2-bench style rear seats that come with the vinyl covers (I never had them re-upholstered)

-A/C that came when purchased (believe it is aftermarket, ran supr cold when it was in the Cruiser)

-Complete transmission and transfer case I purchased for the repairs

-new floor panel for drivers side (where it has rusted)

The motor runs great, I have recently installed new glow plugs, water pump and radiator. It has rust but nothing that can't be fixed or too major with the exception of the floor panel.

I am working on getting pictures up but have had trouble.

I haven't forgotten about you Wiley, I am working on getting the pictures and will send/post more current ones ASAP.

Hey everyone I apologize for taking so long to get a link to the pictures, The only picture I forgot to get was of the rust hole on the drivers side floor board, I do however have the replacement panel that comes with the cruiser. I will be getting a picture up of that this week.

I'm also including my Factory Toyota repair manual I purchsed with intentions of making this my project.

Feel free to ask qeustions.

I apologize for the delay in getting the pictures, it's been a hectic week at work.

Let me know of any questions you may have. The only picture I forgot to take was of the rust hole on the drivers side floor board. I do however have the replacement panel for that.

Wish I knew how to insert pictures into the thread, I've tried multiple times with no luck.

I have lowered the price for those who may be interested. Getting married soon and don't have time for the cruiser right now. PM offers or feel free to call

Hey folks, thanks for the interest but the Cruiser is no longer for sale. I would take the ad down but am unsure how to do so. Thanks again!
