Hoping someone here can help me out with this. I purchased a new fuel door lock cylinder from Matt at VintageTeqparts. I bought it a year and a half ago and finally finished up paint and installed the door and lock (that he keyed to match) - It was snug - but all was well.
Flash forward a month or so and occasional driving and I got home one day and found the fuel door was hanging open and the 'catch lever' was missing. I'm hoping someone knows if just the 'catch lever' and retaining clip can be sourced.
I had emailed Matt via his "contact us" form on the website a month-ish ago and have never heard back. I really don't want to shell out to get a whole new cylinder keyed just to get the 'catch lever' back.

You could just cut one out of some metal, drill a hole and file it square to fit. E-clips are at home despot.

I was able to connect with ToyotaMatt yesterday and I'm going to get some detailed photos sent over to him and he'll help figure out if I just need the new 'hockey stick' and clip - or if there was something else the matter with the lock.

Will update thread once its all put back together.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

Ryan

Matt -

Yes - this is a picture of my green fuel door with the lock that you hand assembled for me. I took it the day I realized it was missing the “hockey stick”.

I had started this thread before we spoke on the phone the other day - as I hadn’t realized we could connect live - anyhow - I really appreciate the time on the phone yesterday and as soon as I can get to the garage and to my 40 I will take those 360 degree photos you requested. I’m traveling for work right now - but should be able to get them to you this weekend.

Really appreciate your help on this @ToyotaMatt
