Imported from Costa Rica In 2009, F motor, 4 wheel drum brakes (pita) Kilometer guages odom stopped at 300,xxx kilos,Nikki carb needs a rebuild trucks starts after a several tries and starts right up when warm, tires GY wrangler Authorities w/ less than 500 miles. Truck didnt come w/ heat from factory. Rusty gas tank and surface rust, No rust holes anywhere. volvo/jeep seats and newer style land cruiser lights front and rear, Head lights recently stopped trying to figure it out.Warn 6000 winch. new fuel pump.Rear brake cylinders replaced or rebuilt. have kits for front.

Just a question and free bump for you. Is this a 75 or newer rear tub mounted to a 73 frame? Or a later 40 with a 73 title? Or did they make them like this in Costa Rica? Just curious… Thanks skully3

The PO removed the old tail lights and welded a tab on the rear bumper for the newer style lights, as for the tub it's the original, but who knows. the master cylinder has three bolts to the firewall 1973 US models had 4 bolt I'm pretty sure. So some older parts were used in the south american market fj40's i guess to keep the prices down.

I think he's asking about the tub because the rear ambulance doors weren't in the states until 1975, and the rear sill appears to be 75+ as well (to accommodate the ambi doors)

The previous owner purchased it from someone in Miami who imported it, I would assume it came on a container ship in miami.
