I'm rebuilding a truck I've never seen run and think I'm missing something here. I can't find a picture of this bracket anywhere to compare, but mine looks like it was cut and then rigged up. How does this attach to the dash? Is it riveted on? Anyone have this bracket along with the washer / round tab that the high/low shifter engages when moved to low speed? Anything else I'm missing from this end of the cable? Thanks!

All the FD cables I've ever seen are mounted through the dash. The part of the cable that goes through the dash is threaded at the bottom for a nut to tighten the cable to the dash. I don't recognize your cable. Maybe someone else will.

Borrowing the this pic from someone else but this one mounts underneath the dash between the cowl vent knob and the transfer lever. I believe they are mounted in a way that shifting into low speed gear will automatically engage 4wd.

The bracket is welded into the back side of the dash. I've included a picture of The bracket mounted. I also have the cable and a remnant of a bracket. I could possibly come up with a full bracket if needed.

Ah OK. It looks like PO cut out the FD bracket in order to hack in a radio. I'm guessing the two holes in my bracket were made so it could be screwed into the side of the radio body. That sucks. I'll need to weld up that radio hole and then weld in a replacement bracket. This went from a 🍌 job to a 🍌 🍌 🍌 job.

I'm definitely interested. Let me know if you have a clean, complete bracket. I don't need the whole cable, just the threaded washer part behind the knob. I can probably fab one up. If you don't want to separate, how much for the cable? Your knob is a little cleaner than mine.

I have yet to remove it from the dash but how about this setup? It has the nut you're looking for. Once I remove it, I'll see if the nut will free up.

That's perfect. I can soak that nut and loosen it if you don't want to go to the trouble. How much to 76017, TX?

$45 shipped to you. If you're good with that PM me.

I got the nut to move freely and I replaced the pinch bolt. Going out today.
