1970 FJ40 3 or 4 speed

I'm needing to order a e-brake cable for a pre 7/70 FJ 40 and Toyota needs to know if it's a 3 or 4 speed. This FJ now has a GM engine/transmission is there anyway I can tell what it had? or will it really make a diffrence since it now has a GM drivline?

Should be a 3 speed

the difference is the length, 3 speed would be abit shorter than a 4 speed. I believe the guts in the e-brake are the same. with the extra length you can route it away from any danger areas.

The end changes slightly at the p-brake handle. If the vehicle has a shorter rear d-shaft (because the SBC pulls the t-case forward) then order the 1970 part w/ the early end.

Forgot to mention that the FJ is also getting a Downey rear disc brake kit so it sounds like either will work. Thanks!!
