Thanks Matt! I’m doing well. I can see how these projects get out of hand...pulled the tub and had everything blasted...surprised how straight a fairly rust free everything is. Now I’m sitting here saying “well how much more work can it be to pull the motor and get the frame blasted and painted??” Real steel panels are coming in next week for rocker and front floors then it’s heading to body/paint.

Nice! Looking awesome!

Took some work but got the rear bumper off that was welded to the crossmember. Not too bad if I say so myself!

Wow your moving really fast.... suspect your not going to be happy attaching a clean tub to that frame.

POWDER COAT IT... You know you want to.🙂
Ha! Don’t do that to me...you’re right I do want to pull it but not sure I have the space, help etc. to do it. I do feel like I’m almost there bc I plan to pull the springs for a 2.5 lift, shocks, maybe some new steering components, motor mounts, etc. It actually looks pretty good now that I hot pressure washed it so thinking it might be okay to just primer and paint. That thing even took all the paint off the frame!

What would you guys do having seen it? Prime and paint or do like an Eastwood encapsulator then paint?

Been a while...decided to go all the way in so currently sits ready to start going back together. All
Of the metal work is done and it’s at paint. Replaced front floor pans and lower kick panel pieces And passenger inner and outer rocker...all extra holes issues etc. Are buttoned up. Frame blasted and PC and I sprayed the axles and new lift springs with a 2k industrial paint that turned out nice. Got all The parts for the center link rebuild, TRE’s etc. from cruiser teq. Will Be rebuilding knuckles as well as soon as the kit is available (thanks @FJBen 😂). Feels good that it’s going together instead of apart! Thanks again to everyone on here that have contributed there wisdom and steered me in the right direction...maybe not the easy direction, but certainly the right one in the end.

Looking good with the PC Frame and all!

I'm at a similar stage with my frame off but haven't updated in some time.

So you painted the springs, is this something people typically do?

Got some new 2.5" OME springs myself and was wondering if painting or coating with something is advisable, seems like there are a bunch of sliding parts and it could be tricky.

Good question, I don’t really know. The only reason I threw some paint on them is bc even though they are new it looks like they were thrown around during shipping and were scraped up and just looked kinda like crap. I had paint left over from the frame so I figured scuffing em up and throwing some paint on would do the trick.

Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve posted anything on here. I’ve gotten a lot done since then. It’s a roller again…Knuckles, steering, etc all rebuilt. Pro comp 2” lift and shocks installed. I dropped the motor/tranny back in recently (but decided it will come back out for paint). All of the original hardware was sent to be re-zinc’d. I tell you that was one of the best things I’ve done so far! So cool having most of the original stuff to use and it looks like new. Body went to paint today and that feels like a huge step. Now that it’s going back together it is way more enjoyable to work on…It was tough there for a while because it seemed like you put in hours of dirty greasy work and didn’t see much for it. Can’t wait to see some cadet blue on it!
