1969 FJ40 restoration (1 Viewer)

Hi - I’m working on my new project a 1969 fj40. I have been stripping paint - previous owners did a spray over everything but didn’t remove trim etc. question is I have it down to what appears to be sandable primer - do I need to remove all of this to metal and reprime it or can I leave this and just remove where rust needs to be addressed? Thanks!

How did you remove the old paint? Stripper? If so, the paint/primer below isn’t reliable after being subjected to the stripper.

I took most off with a razor blade. I have used steel brush on tight spots. The paint peeled off quite easily with the razor blade.
