Looking for a 1969~79 FJ40 with a start up budget of around $4000. I live near Birmingham and would like to find something close; however I have a trailer and will travel for the right 40. At this price range I am expecting to get a basic rig or someone's unfinished project. I realize my budget and a rust free body is too much to ask for - with that said I am not interested in one that might lose 50 lbs of rust and bondo on the way home...
I'm a little nostalgic and used to have a 40 with the 3 speed column shift. This is one of the options I like that most people don't. I know this limits me to the early years only - its not required but would be a plus. Disc brakes, power steering, and a 2F motor would be nice too but you can't have everything on a budget like mine...
