Hey Whitey.

I really don't need another 45 or diesel but. . . . . I just can't help myself.

Do you have access to get the floor boards, new bed and the other body parts required? I think it might be easier for you to get your hands on them.

Other than my 45, I haven't seen another in my area since the mid 80's.

Thanks,

Todd @ aqualu makes the exact bed out of aluminum, and this comes with another floor board...

Clear Title Problem

For Whitey and Dieseldude (Canadian),

Having followed this thread and the current ebay listing for your diesel FJ45 SWB, I would like to put an offer in on the truck.

I have spoken with the Registrar of Imported Vehicles in Canada, and they will accept this vehicle so long as I provide an original Bill Of Sale and Clear Title of Ownership.

I have even found a shipper ready to pick it up. The cost to Detroit is just over$2,000.

But I have not yet bid because...

1./ The ebay lists this as without clear title. There is no ebay protection without clear title.

2./ I have contacted Whitey a few times about title. He says he has "clean Montana Pink Slip".... and that the truck has "Clear Montana Title, and that it would be no problem putting it in my name"...that the title is still in the previous owners name and that he would get it changed over to his name this week.

3./ I think Whitey is a good guy, but it is still foolish to bid or buy a vehicle and transfer it across the country and import it to Canada with the title still up in the air! It will be stuck in Detroit for ad infinitum without title and no ebay protection!

4./ I think others will feel the same, but the thing is I really like this truck, and everybody, especially Whitey, would be better served, (if he wants a good price), with current legal title in his name when selling.

5./ I hope this gets resolved soon as the bidding ends tomorrow. There is only $2,938. bidding on it now with no reserve mentioned ? One person already removed their bid. What's going on here? This is a long way from the $7,500 you are asking for on Mud.

6./ All I am asking for is clear title on the ebay site

7./ Whitey, if you still have this truck after the bidding ends, I am willing to make an offer, so long as you get clear title in your name first

Buyer beware, ( but what a cool truck and restoration project!... groan )

I am not sure why you are obsessing on the title when I hold a clean montana title. A vehicle does not have to be in your name to sell it.Using a public forum to whine about something that isnt true is not appreciated, and I really dont think you deserve the truck at this point, so I hope you are happy with your rant!

Its pretty simple really. The truck is not in your name. You expect me to put down money on your word that the truck has clear title when it is listed as not having such on ebay

So if your recovered drivetrainless frame and body for whatever reason , such as having been at a wrecker etc ( see ebay notice on restrictions and reasons for ) makes title difficult ), I the buyer deserve to know before giving you my money

So take your poor response and find another sucker...I'll not hold any grudge against your truck which I like... but you, who have lost my respect, lost a sale.

You still do not get it, It has a clear title....Its your loss, Again to spout off on a public forum is rude and disrespectful, and you really have no place in this forum, you dont even know me,and you challenge my credibility....:flipoff2: I guess some other sucker will get a fun project!!

You really know how to butter a guy up then kick him in the balls

Whitey clearly stated he has a "CLEAR MONTANA TITLE"

****SEE RESPONSE BELOW****

You have the VIN number, run a check on it.

I further fail to see the poor responses you speak of here,Whitey answered your questions as anyone else would have.

There are certainly better ways you could have handled this and not brought it on the Mud Board or this thread.

cool, does this mean I can come down and reclaim the rig! :D :grinpimp:

I want the truck just because the guy selling it, and the truck is sweet to boot. I may be the new owner if these dumb dicks get scared of something as little as skipping title.

Mike

Well...I was a little low, but I'm still way interested if the eBay deal falls through. Anyone else have a SWB 45 for sale?

I helped getting the price closer to Whitey's magic number. . . . I was leading the charge with about 8 seconds to go:doh: And I wasn't even scared off by the 'lack of title'

Did a mudder get it? I truly hope so . . .

Wish it was me, but hope Whitey is good with the price.

Congrats on the purchase Mike. Glad to see it's going to stick around here.

I the buyer deserve to know before giving you my money

Um, your not the buyer until you hand over the cash. Until then, your a tire kicker...

Congrats on the buy. I think it's a hell of a deal.

Nice work Buenos Noches! Looks like a sweet rig and couldn't go to a better place! We all know that you'll give it some love and use the hell out of it!
