This has been found here in Aust. Apparently almost no rust complete vehicle and still runs. 3 owner. What a gem.

Johnny apparently it's a hand winch.

No not current.

One odd looking winch :)

Johnny apparently it's a hand winch.

The location of the brackets and holes that appear to line up with shafts on the winch probably uses extensions to get the crank handle clear of the bib.

With the number of surviving 25s in the US it's shouldn't be surprising that these gems keep popping in Australia. Depending when the last 25 made it here to the US we are somewhere over 200. Would think Australia got at least as many if not more. With the vast openness there are probably more waiting to be discovered.

true. i still searching for one of the small number of 57 models that are supposed to be in aus (according to an old media article posted by johnnyc in the thiess thread). this one has the kick vent so it not among the earlier 58s. but they just dont turn up like this! any landcruiser i find has been worked to death. wouldnt you just love to have a tinker, get a roadworthy and drive her down the pub now and again. shes delightful!

thanks for sharing ken. got any more pics? this is as good a reference as will prob ever be found. what really interest me is the passenger seat. it seems to be a single seat like the drivers. the auction 25 i posted in my 'little sister' thread was like that also.
