Nothing picture worthy today. The final parts haul consists of: the LQ9, transmission/transfer case, front differential, hydro boost brake system, steering column, accelerator pedal, drive shaft, hitch, cats w/4 O2 sensors, trans cross member and miscellaneous small brackets.

Parts left to be removed; rear axel, last half of exhaust system and third row seats.

I bought a new engine stand. The old one always made me uncomfortable.

I sold the chassis of the 56’ today.

Then I loaded the Caddy shell for next Saturdays scrap run.

Since we are expecting 5”+ of rain between now and Saturday, I thought I would move the party closer to the concrete.

Yesterday morning I headed out in the rain for scales. The ol’ 68’ was feeling the load but never complained. I took it slow and steady. When I arrived at the scrap yard I had the place to myself, just what I was hoping for. I rolled across the scales at 9260 lbs. I spent more time talking with the claw operator and showing him the 68’, than it took for him to relieve the trailer of its load. A perfect grab and lift, with no scratches on the borrowed trailer and nothing falling out of the Caddy. Back across the scales 3240 lbs lighter and then back to the house. All in all a perfect trip. I didn’t spin a tire in the yard. The spot I parked in is high ground.

Today I finished cleaning up the shop. I sorted and stored all of the remaining Caddy parts and started posting the good used parts on Marketplace. Maybe I can get back to turning wrenches on the GMC soon.

@J Mack do you have a preferred vendor for LS motor mount swaps?
I bought a CNC plasma table and make all my own junk here.
It has paid for itself 100 times over by now and still going strong.
With that said the owner of the Lincoln I'm working on found a nice kit that included everything needed from radiator to transmission for like $4000.00 if I remember right.
If you need something particular let me know if I can help.

Thanks J. I just need a simple set of LS motor mounts to swap into K20 chassis. There are multiple vendors of that product. I was wondering if you had any you would recommend.

I like the Trans-dapt style mounts that use factory style engine mounts if I was going to buy them.

When I make them here I use the spring type eye bushings because I have a drawer full of them and and all the tubing to make the sleeves .

This afternoon was productive. I knew the radiator would need clearance at the cross member. So I took care of that.

Then I turned my attention to finding my engine, that was buried in a jungle of wires and hoses.

Last weekend I bought a NP205 T case to marry to the 700r4 I bought. I will need to purchase the correct output shaft for the transmission in order to bolt them together.
