Just as a point of reference. They charged $200 to repack bearings..
Great, these TLC are tanks, hard to stop one.

One thing I'd do is talk with mechanic that did work, asking what torque he used. Most of these guys are old school and don't go by FSM, which is great. But if he used factory torque spec you will have issues, FSM spec is to loose. Easy Fix:wrench:

Agree I had local Toyota dealer do mine and 6k mile later when I had Slee do the 120k and OME suspension I had a loose driver side bearing so they could not align my LX. Had to do the bearings again, except now I know they are done right. Have to say the dealer refunded what they originally charged me for the original repack. The service manager at the Las Vegas Toyota knew about Slee off road in Golden Colorado and said if they had to redo the repack that his guy screwed up.

Possibly did load some into the job, or perhaps I misinterpreted the amount and maybe it was 200 a side. Or it was built into the "150k service". .

Side note, the cooper ats-3 are pretty nice riding tires. They are not the same as the mich ltx, but for $750 bucks a set, can't beat the $/product.

I'm sure yours was done right. I think the problem with mine was the service writer quoted a super cheap rate so the tech rushed the job. At least no damage and I got my money back.

After timing belt 90K & spark plugs 120K miles or 96 months, start maintenance schedule over as if mile 1 month 1. If you have orignal brake fluid and it's still clear, keep it. Can't get factory installed fluid (great stuff) in U.S. due to EPA regs. Transfer case, front wheel bearings each 30K miles, air filter, check PVC, I like M1 syn ATF for trany & power steering flush, total needed about 12qt. plus 1qt. De-rust & paint underside, touch-up paint chips and recoat (rubberize) wheelwells as needed and keep eye on rubber hoses ect...

Dumb question, Any thoughts on product to recoat wheel wells?

Any spray can, that states undercoating will work fine. I just used this "Dupli-color Rubberized Undercoating" that I've had laying around for years.

I started my undercoating project a month or so ago, but it's not going to happen before winter.

Am probably going to go with Eastwood's product.

^That looks like good stuff, Smooth. I also keep a can of black spray paint around. If get around to it, I'm going to pick-up some fliud flim to get those tough to spot like bumper bolt & bracket areas.

Number one preventive for me is washing after (ASAP) every snow storm to get the road chemicals off.
