Hi guys,

I am looking to bring a 2006 hzj105 from middle east into Canada, and also a second land cruiser to sell in Canada/usa to offset a bit of the shipping cost.

What do you think there would be more apetite for? A low miles fzj80 (60k kms) or a 105 with 150k kms?
Either with excellent frames, body/mechanical.

Both are quite expensive either in middle East or USA, like... 50k usd...
There's even one 105 for 55k in the east coast.
I can also get 70 series lwb, but those ones i prefer to keep them for myself.

That’s a lot of coin for a 1HZ powered Cruiser. If it is mint I am sure it will sell.

Me? I would rather get a good FZJ105 or a beat down HZJ105 for cheap.

Cheers

Yeah, they are expensive here. But i can get it for 35k + shipping. Still not cheap, but at least for 10k-15k less then market value and no rust. Most of the ones here have a bit of rust.

I good point, a gasoline one is better in US. I think i can also get those too.

For a cheap, rough one, might be better for the guys to get them from central America, plenty of options there.

Yeah, quite a lot,

I can also get one with the 1fz i believe, but i am guessing it is worth less than the diesel one, so i could potentially lose money.

I will only bring a mint one, i can get them at 35k usd plus shipping with brand new fresh paint job, or good original paint , no rust, new interior if needed, and very good mechanical condition.
Avoid those with fake miles or High miles..

For me it's not worth to buy a cheap one, shipping is insanely expensive and I would have to spend a lot in labour and parts in Canada or us, and no one would give much value later anyway.

Look at how popular the FZJ7x are getting by browsing the 70-series forum. A lot of people either don’t want the stink of a diesel or want more power than the 1HZ can reliably provide. Most FZJ 105’s are the coil pack 1FZ-FE and that is an engine Toyota designed very well and it has good stock power, albeit a gas hog.

A beater HZJ105 for me would serve the purpose of an engine swap and even buy a donar cheap 100-series to refresh interior and so forth. I would want to swap in a 1HDFTE.

105’s are very desirable in North America, you won’t have a problem selling them. Can you make a profit? Probably but that is up to you.

Cheers

Those fzj79 are crazy fun!
Very expensive even in the middle east.

I will check with my guy for a fzj105.

At this point is not so much about making money, but more about helping with the costs, lol.

I already have 4 land cruisers, all of them rusty, all scratched (i love atv trails) , fun beaters, in 3 different continents. I just did 10k kms, thru British Columbia, Dempster Highway, artic ocean, all the way to Toronto, with a hj61 high roof with cable lockers and 12ht, i picked up in Vancouver, with plenty of rust and leaking water in the roof.

But now I want to make a collection of mint, unique lcs.

A double cab hzj79 double cab is arriving next week, next I will get the hzj105 for long distance travel with the family (fuel economy, space and comfort),
Later on a hzj78, and a fj45 troop carrier. Yeah, big, huge dream....

Gasoline 1fz 105 may only exist in Australia, RHD.

You would have to do a 1fzfe swap, or a v8 3fzfe swap if you are on a budget, maybe for 3k.

Turbo diesels cost more than 5k usd plus labour, unless you find a really good deal.

Link to the east coast 105 for $55k?

I don't have a link, it's not on marketplace.
I will try to find his contact.
Last time we talked, he told me he will sell it on bat auction if it doesn't sell .

In few months i will have one from 1999, but in better condition, no rust, fresh new quality paint, partially new interior, perhaps for the same price, or go on Bat also.
