Well I finally used up the last of my oil filters for my BJ 74 :crybaby: and before I go online to order more, I've heard you can buy a filter from NAPA auto parts that will work for a 13BT. Has anyone used such a filter? And if so, could you pass on the part number? Finally, does anyone know of any other compatible filters that I can easily get in Canada ie at Lordco or even...... do I dare say it... Crappy Tire?

It's the same oil filter as a Chev 350. Available anywhere.

Personally the best one I used was the Purolator 30005.

Craig.

The one I used crosses over to a 5.0l ford 302 (I think)

Fram# PH8A you can cross reference it from there

Napa Gold 1515 (a good quality filter made by WIX).

Please don't use a Fram....

This is Ford Filter number, and not a Chevy unit.

Can you not get Toyota OEM filters for the 13bt?

Can you not get Toyota OEM filters for the 13bt?

According to the parts epc ,it has a huge cross reference including 2F engines from 1980- in FJ40/45 You should be able to buy them anywhere
part number 15600-41010
Its also used on the B 2B 3B L 2L 3L 1KZ T 2KD FTV etc Look for a quality brand on EBAY and buy a box of them.

For what it's worth, it is the Purolator PL 30001 that is the correct filter, or at least the one that cross referencers with the Fram listed above.

A little research shows that the original OEM filter has been replaced with a smaller unit and the original big filter is no longer available.

How much were they as part of the Amayama order? @beno just shared with me the Amayama info and I'm going to be placing a sizable order soon.

$14.94 each. They were impeccably packaged as Amayama removed them from the boxes, wrapped them in bubble wrap, then put them back in the boxes and wrapped the boxes in bubble wrap. Shipping is expensive, but if you are ordering other items which are not available via TMS in the USA, adding them does not add too much in freight.

Awesome! Will definitely grab a couple. If anyone has any other bits they're looking for I'm having a big batch shipped to pa here in a few days can add to it.

I dont think you can beat a Baldwin B253. I've been using them on my 13BT and Ford 460 (7.5L) for years. Built for Ferrari and Porsche and rated for racing applications.

And at the end of the day the guy chooses to use Baldwins. Up the 13BT's standard Baldwin B2 Filter to the racing spec B253 and you've got a winner!!! ;)
