hello this is my first forum, can you please help me , i live tasmania , i purchased a 13bt { jap import deisel }i was told it was a " bu" series 84/ 87 , can any one tell me the compression ratio for the 13bt engine , i was told it is not the same as the 3b. the 3b series manual gives specs of 427psi for both models, the 13bt uses a low compression piston 17.6.1 ratio on the same crank as the 3b, how does that translate into the same compression psi spec . i had my motor rebuilt top to bottom ran well , then after 4000klm it started loosing power it does not use any oil , no smoking at all , reco injector pump , new fuel inj , turbo tested, just done a compression check and all 4 cylinders are only 250 psi , i noticed on the end of head gasket lip it had a number 160 on it , any ideas would be appreciated , thank you:)

The compression ratio or a 13B-T whether it is a red block or blue block is 17.6.1

Did you you do a wet compression test? Did you do a valve adjustment? Is there any contamination of fluid ie oil or coolent( you would have mentioned it right?)

I am off to work , someone else will chime in soon. Good Luck!

if you have boost gauge can you tell us tghe BOOST? No oil in the coolant? Using COOLANT?

Timing is correct? did it move?

Injectors reconned and cleaned? are they clean? Fuel filter clogged (Both)????

I assume it still starts easy?

13B-T is an awesome long life engine.
