12V battery is in the back, how will this affect installation of 12V accessories? Beyond that and the lack of an alternator (converter instead) i don’t think the fact it’s a hybrid really has much effect on things.

Putting a winch in the front bumper will mean running heavy gauge cables all the way thru the cabin, thru the firewall, up to the front bumper.

On the plus side, don’t have to run wires thru the firewall for things like cab/ ham radio, cell booster, fridge, etc. And maybe it will also make adding a second battery easier

Looking at the pictures I don't see any room in the engine bay for a second battery or air compressor or much of anything else.

But there's no way Toyota didn't think of and plan for them and a winch. Right?

There should be a jumper terminal in the engine bay like any vehicles with rear battery.
Winch should not be a problem. The detail need to be figured out but they should take that into consideration.

4xE wrangler got no problem with winch.

Is a second battery even needed? I thought the engine started using the hybrid battery

The 12 volt battery is still needed as a safety system. It control unit need to see the 12 volts before the hybrid can operate.

The engine does start using hybrid battery. There are no starter. The hybrid motor is the starter.

Yeah my understanding is the 12v battery “starts” (wakes up) the HV system, but if it’s like the Tundra hybrid I think there is a 12V starter on the engine for cold starts.

The 12V system also runs all other power accessories in the car (lights, radio, ecu, fans, etc)

Right, but I’m talking about a second 12v battery. The idea being that you can just hook up all your accessories (lights, fridge, etc) to the one 12v since the truck uses the hybrid system to start up.

Ah I thought you were referring to the 12V battery as the “second” battery (with the big 288V battery being the “primary”)

Yeah I would think a deep cycle AGM (which might even be standard) could probably work fine to power some camping accessories (fridge, etc) with less concern of draining it. While you definitely DONT want to drain it because it’s still needed to “wake up” the 288V system, it wouldn’t need to put out the high cranking amps required to turn over a traditional engine/starter.
