12HT Top Mount Intercooler install and assistance

Have fun cutting the hole in you bonnet
If you're going to cut it with an angle grinder, make sure you cover everything including the windscreen. I was using a nibbler but it was a super crap one and kept getting jammed so I covered everything and used an angle grinder. Except a bit of the windscreen was exposed so now I have metal dust embedded in my windscreen . Oh well good thing it never rains in Perth.
Yours intercooler looks pretty central width ways. I take it you will be cutting the centre strut of your bonnet then?
I just put a Beaudesert exhaust system on my car today. ($1090 shipped) Fits like a glove. Took about 2-3 hours to install. Comes with all the hardware you need and even comes with a nice big replacement dump pipe and a threaded boss to fit your egt sensor. I'm very impressed. It isn't any noisier in the car, except you do hear the turbo whistle when you push it hard. Hope to fit the boost controller on Monday and play around.

Yes I was thinking I might remove the bonnet after I've marked it, I was wondering if there's a strut there, if so I might leave that in tac, I don't want to lose strength in the bonnet.

So did you get a 3 inch exhaust, I just finished installing mine, I made it myself from 3 inch pipe cost me around $300, but a lot of fiddling around, mines a straight thru can hear that turbo spinning, sound awesome. I also fitted my EGT sensor about 4 inches from the turbo, a lot of people on here say it should be pre turbo not post.

Today I made the brackets to hold the IC in place, I still need to give them a paint, but looks ok

Getting close now, pulled the old bonnet scoop out of the shed and put it on the truck where I think it needs to go, just gotta work out what colour to paint it satin black or factory red

Today made up a template out of cardboard

Then I cutout the hole with a grinder, a little bit scary at first but just cut away she'll be right mate, scoop fitted in perfect and then done all the bolts up

Now just gotta take it off and paint it, also I need to workout how I'm going to seal it inside,just trying to find some aluminium sheet ATM

that IC looks very similar to the side mounts out of an R32 skyline

maybe a little wider, this thread has been great as a TMIC is next on my list

I used luv (not) driving around Northbridge and seeing all those rice cookers, and yep one day I'll take it out and play with it one day

Does your bonnet protector deflect air over the scoop?? ( I have the same one) 3. Any othe helpful hints for a complete noob now that you finished it off??

Mate the performance has definitely increased, the bonnet protector doesn't affect the intake at all and the whole thing only cost me $40, I still haven't completely sealed the bonnet yet, but a mate up here as the rubber surround for it that he's going to give me as well.

I can't for the life of me see how they can charge $2000 for one, just make sure you get a big enough IC mine came off a 4.2 turbo nissan
