Im in the process of doing and engine change in a HJ75 form the 2H to the 12ht. the motor I brought from a wrecking yard its missing a few parts.
one of which I believe is called a gas filter, it looks like a small white petrol fuel filter, its bolted to the rear of the preheat glow box. has a boost line from the manifold running to it then goes to the boost sensors and fuel pump. has a part number of 23265. any information on what this thing does or can I get away with out it would be most helpful

On the 2f gas engine we have a “gas filter” that screws into the intake manifold. It provides a point to draw vacuum to operate smog/carburetor functions. I could be wrong in this but I think it acts as a filter and possibly a check valve? I am in no way familiar with Diesel engines, but that’s what I know of the 2f.
