It is a CT-26 housing, ala many Toy applications, however I do not have the vane ratios.

You could contact http://www.all-american.nl/ and see what they have on the shelf. Upgrades for the 13BT, 12HT and 1HD-T are supposed to be available. Probably best to phone.

I've noticed several 12ht/2h photos contain heat shields on the exhaust manifold...

what's that all about? does it really help anything? how much is the radiant heat coming off the manifold going to affect things, anyway?

Helps a lot. On the BJ74 there is heat shielding in the same places, in addition to the the clutch booster having it's own heat shield. Consider the temps inside the manifold and around the hot side turbo can be easily in excess of 1000F. While underhood temps might not be in that territory, radient heat to close objects would not be a good thing.

Fair enough. Guess I should consider fabbing one up.... or find one @ a junkyard. Heat is certainly a problem down here, anything to make it run cooler/last longer is worth it.
