I just accuired lj70 axles for cheap.
they have coils and will be used well on a 40 or 45 LC.
I did some searching but could not find all the answers.

SO here is are the first questions

will 120 series prado factory lockers fit lj70 axles, front or rear?
will it fit in either the front or rear of the 40 series (semi rear)
is it true that they have 4.56 gears in them?

Hi all,

Tin Tin, The Prado 120 Series is pretty much unknown in North America; you probably would get more response on an Australian 4wd site, though you might try posting in the Diesel & 24 Volt section here on MUD.

Good luck,

Alan

somehere in wikipedia it says the suspension is the same as the 4 runner and fjcruiser of the same years... we dont have many of those here so I got some ??? about your USA spec vehicles also!
hahaha

If anyone can provide some info of what kind of diff the 120 series runs, if it needs long splinned shafts, I assume 12 volt though.

I dont feel it fits there since it will be al fab and weld work in the end and parts swapping.
but many thanks for the suggestion of putting in another tread.

I have a free e locker at home and want to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!:grinpimp:

LJ and KZJ will share the same 8" 3rds .. which are smaller than 40 / 70 / 60 series HD axles with are 9.5" 3rds

the 120 series rear third member will fit a 40 rear?
What about axle shafts?
