Question: How do you tell if someone is a teacher or a health care worker within five minutes of meeting them?
Answer: They'll tell you!

Did I miss any?
I’m looking forward to a night run up Kendall Mountain this year. Who’s with me?😎
Been to Silverton a bunch of times and still haven't done a night run. Hopefully I get the chance to do one with y'all.

Yes, clearly I'm the keyboard warrior. Just do us all a favor and stay in the south.

dude I’m as mild mannered and easy as they come. The only thing that sets me off is being lectured to by an ideologue as if I’m morally or intellectually inferior. Which you’ve been doing.

But all this is on me, because i let myself get dragged down into this wasteful back and forth. Won’t happen again.

I’m deleting all my posts. Not because I’m wrong but because it’s ridiculous.

Yeah Lee, a night run up Kendall would be pretty cool. I’ll say for anyone on standard 2ply sidewall AT’s the rocks on that road going up there are super sharp- I carved off some KO2 sidewall last time running up there.

It’s probably about time for MTs. You must have 100k miles in those KO2s😮

Lol- only about 45k but yeah some new MT’s are on my short list.

risk from hospitalization and death from Covid. It's a very very small part of the population

This is fundamentally inaccurate with the knowledge we have now vs. what we knew a year ago. While it is true that some people are much higher risk than others plenty of young people with ideal BMI and no other chronic health conditions succumb to the virus. Certainly people who are obese or diabetic or have cancer or a host of other conditions should take extra care. However that alone will not get it done and 500,000 dead across the nation shouuld be evidence enough of that.

The common sense solution is for those at risk to protect themselves

This isn't how disease works. Not when its spread through droplets or airborne in certain situations.

Your two statements above and what I really chimed in about initially, the statement of another poster that his having had covid and his family having had it makes him as qualified as anyone on the subject, illustrate the dominant problem. Everyone thinks from their armchair of power that they know all about everything and can ignore whatever they find objectionable. Armchair expertise and google searches aren't the answer.

Its akin to me watching a few engine rebuilding videos on you tube and declaring myself an expert rebuilder. I doubt anyone here would do such a thing but why is it that so many are willing to do it with as complicated a subject as epidemiology?

So as I said initially the best we can do is listen to the people who make this their career and lifes work. Nationally and internationally there is consensus form those people whether you or anyone else likes it or not.

Couldnt agree more!! Please go delete your posts and take the covid discussion to the Chit Chat forum.

Done. Happy to continue the debate via PM with anyone who's interested. Be brave, don't live in fear.

That's the way we went last year, but brought the 200 since there was no actual event. Came from Utah instead of Texas, but I guess I was born down there..
There were 200s there last year? :oops:

(Nope, there were about three 200 series, that were running around with a herd of 100 series last year, at "the HIH that wasn't" or "Virtual HIH".)

@TomEf - Maroon LX570
@ga12r1 - Black 200 LC
(and I don't remember who was in the White 200)

has anything been announced this year other than dates? signed up last year before it was cancelled and i haven't gotten any emails regarding 2021
I don't think anybody has seen anything official and I've been reluctant to bug Stan and Chris directly because I'm sure they will announce more details as soon as they feel they can. I've blocked out the dates in my calendar but haven't made any other plans for before/after for fear of another cancellation.

Considering the timing, will there be any co-mingling of the HIH/LCDC crowds? I've signed up for LCDC, but plan on getting there early on the 26th or 27th and making my way up to Idaho after the 30th. Would be nice to meet some of the 100 crew, but wouldn't want to crash any "paid" festivities.
