New to the whole trail experience, but I am not sure I would want chili in the stomach out on the trail..lol
It won't be in your stomach long though. Chili for dinner usually means a completely empty gastrointestinal system by 7am the following morning for me....TMI![]()
A chili with beans is not a chili at all.
But wait you're from Louisiana so if you add rice isn't that almost just gumbo??
You must be having the "chili" with beans in it.
Team no beans.
I guess if you want to spell chile wrong you can have it. NM has the best green chile. Colorado has the best green chili. But now you're fighting with Texas over the best chili and then we start arguing over beans or no beans. It's going to get messy fast. Let's have an official chile/chili eating experience at HIHX and then we can vote on it. I'll bring some of the best green chile for people to use as a garnish on nearly everything and you can bring a giant pot of green chili. Anyone from Texas want to bring some Texas Chili?
I didn’t know there was such a thing as chili without beans![]()
Sounds like a stew to meLee....dude.
Handies is one of the better climbs in the state. The flowers are bananas. Climbing a 14er is a daunting task even for healthy folks, but very very doable. It's important to start early. Leaving camp before 5am would be best. You definitely want to be off the summit before noon. Folks are killed every year from lightning here in Colorado. I can't tell you how many times we've been descending after summiting and a group in jeans and sneakers are just starting their climb with storm clouds building all around. Storms pop up fast almost every day above 13,000 feet.
