Greetings brains trust. I am a newbie here (posting from Australia) so lets start by saying thanks for having me. My 105 (2000 model) has an intermittent buzzer come on accompanied by the ABS warning light and the Handbrake light. My local LC specialist ran the OBD scan and the result came back saying 'battery too full'. So the battery was checked and it is tip top shape, not the problem. This buzzer is LOUD. Does anyone know a) where to find it b) what it looks like and c) how to disconnect it PLEASE I am going mad :)

This sounds like the warning buzzer for the ABS motor, which is well documented here. Seems unlikely that this is battery-related.

Do you have a conventional brake booster under the hood, or do you have the large reservoir with the motor and pump assembly? How do your brakes feel? Note that if you go on a test drive and the ABS motor stops, you will have very soft brakes that will require 3 pumps to slow the vehicle, so use caution.

Hi Steve, thanks for your suggestion. I have been driving safely with this buzzer going off intermittently for 5 maybe 6 weeks. Offroad, open road and city roads, the breaks are working great, no change there. I don't believe it is a brake related issue (strange as that may sound)

hi mate did you ever end up fixing the issue my partners hzj105 2002 has just started doing the same thing, the brakes are still working i have done basic tests VIA Toyotas repair Manuel and still can't seem to replicate the issue until the car is driving around (ABS+Handbrake light+alarm) Code 51

I'm yet to fully investigate due to how bad the weathers has been and not having undercover place to check and diag the issue but i believe its most probably going to be the pump motor connections between the pump from abs module to the motor itself or internal brushes eg in the motor , without visual inspection of connections and also removing the pump motor and stripping it down for a visual condition of the brushes/internal condition of it .
i have seen you can buy cheap copy's of the pump motors for 100-140$ Aus off eBay I might just buy one and install it for peace of mind .

even tho this isnt a 100% fix for this issue i am having as of yet , its a good paper trail for someone else that might be having an issue.

i may even start another post ...

cheers .brad

If not already seen, it is worth following @2001LC on Brake System issues -- and most other 100 series issues. His Master Thread is a good place to start -- scroll down to "Brakes" at his Master Thread:
