Will these fit an lx with ahc? I notice on photos they have 3 attachment points and there is no option on the website to order an lx version. Anyone have these on an lx?

I would email them. FYI- John at White Knuckle makes a AHC friendly version. As stated before (in my post), I have beaten mine senseless. Mine were the 2nd WK sliders off the production line (Anthony L. has the first). Since mounting I have dragged, slid, pounded, and dropped the 100 on them more times than I can count. Great quality in my books.

I just calculated shipping for the metaltech's from Oregon to Kentucky, $220!!! Is this in line with what some of you paid to get your slee's or WKOR sliders? I know they are heavy but I was not expecting that. @200uzj The metaltechs attracted me because of the $100 off, but I will check out the White Knuckles. You are kind of near me (southeast anyway) how much was shipping on your white knuckles?

$220 seems high to just kentucky. Fwiw i paid $277 for shipping on my 80 sliders from MT to hawaii about a year ago.

Call Brandon directly at Metal Tech, give him the chance to earn your business.

I would say Metal Tech, SLEE and WKOR are the "big 3" when it comes to sliders. Heck, call them all...... then compare apples to apples on shipping costs. Performance wise, they'll all stand up to any abuse you can throw at them. You're not going to beat them into failure.

I have had SLEE and White Knuckle Offroad on my 100 series.....SLEE on my FJ60.....Budbuilt on my FJC.

I loved them all...and all will do you right. I would feel 100% confident that a set of sliders from SLEE, BIOR, White Knuckle, Metal Tech, etc....will serve you well for many years. There are slight differences among them all....such as I prefer the rear kickouts but lot of western guys dont. Personal preference....

I have one of the first White Knuckle sets for an LX470....and have beat the hell out of them....rattle can of black paint...some cardboard for overspray and they are good as new minus a couple gouges, creases and scrapes under the paint.

Best money spent on my vehicles...and I do tires and rock sliders BEFORE I do any other mods.....best money you will ever spend especially when you hit that first tree, rock or ledge and think of the damage and cost of repair if you had not done them yet.

Good luck.

I agree with this too. However, there are plenty of 100's with sliders that will never even see a scratch. Nothing wrong with that, but why spend top $ on something you'll likely never use, but want "just in case"? Nakman had a great quote about choosing SLEE or Metal Tech sliders.... "One stops bullets and the other is bulletproof"

Dude, what? I said that? you sayin I haven't scratched mine? :flipoff2:

Are you gonna make me go back and find it??? Someone was questioning what sliders to buy , Slee or MT.....

Besides, I've seen you scratch yours. I'd consider them bulletproof, or maybe they just stop bullets. Not sure.

Nakman is hardcore...I know this.....he plastidips his steering wheel cover...he is expo approved.....don't question that....

Ah finally, some respect! :p the reality is, if you just pick easy lines you don't need sliders, right?

Happy Friday, 100 dudes.

Are you questioning my respect for the Vice Commander? That's High Treason!

I do remember that run^^ BOWAGW!

For those members who are considering whether sliders should be their first mod and to keep this Tech, Expo and Plasti-approved ;).... even trails like this which would be considered mild have obsticals that will destroy your truck. Sliders serve a great purpose protecting you from damage.
I may have touched a rock here too......

U-Bolt Attachment for Sliders

I would like to know: Does anyone has issues with the u-bolt attachment scheme for the sliders that are on the market? They all seem to mount the same, and some of my buddies roll their eyes when I mention the u-bolts.

I appreciate y'all's input.

The problem mode is not with the u-bolt; they are plenty strong. But rather with the clearance between body pan and the flange on the slider that sticks above the frame rail. When I first got mine installed the slider shifted up enough to intermittently make contact. I loosened everything and re-tightened and hasn't been a problem since.

I have had the same issue. Mine shifted about 0.125" inches up contacting the body when I put the vehicle on jack stands using my sliders. This was to install my lift and I wanted it up high, so I could work sitting on the floor under the vehicle. (Side note: Love the 12-ton jack stands for this!)

I now need to loosen them up and shift them back down. This was after tightening them to the point where the U-bolts were starting to bend, so I am now wondering if they will perpetually shift when placed under full vehicle load.:hhmm:

I would be up to having them welded to the frame, if this is the case. So I will wait and see.

Once I reset them I haven't had any problem. I think it was just a matter of getting the u-bolts to stretch and bed in.

I'd echo this sentiment as well. Sliders will prevent damage in a lot of different ways and it prevents complaints from the :princess: types when they want to step in the vehicle. I just bought and installed WKOR sliders on my 100 series, but I think they all have their place in the market.

if you're price sensitive, here is a suggestion. Buy the WKOR sliders bare metal. Don't powdercoat them.

I have a big bucket of this rust preventative product called "NORust," which I used to coat and protect my sliders. It's nasty thick, smells, etc, but it works...I painted my sliders with that first, and now I'm rattle can painting them black just to have a consistent texture/color.

Don't powdercoat them.

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement!

My wife had mine powder coated when she purchased them. I have since found two small pin holes in the coating and now have rust coming out of those holes. I don't know of any other options other than to grind off the powder coating, remove the rust, and then paint them.

This all said that it was a waste of money and I would not recommend that.

Any opinions on HREW vs. DOM? With only a 40$ difference @ WK, I think I would choose the DOM version anyways, but was curious to what others thought...

Glad to hear you say that..I was a bit sheepish about not powdercoating my WKOR sliders. But once I got them in and got them rust proofed and painted, it turned out to look good and I was glad I saved the money.

And above all, you're going to abuse these, they are going to take some hits, even if you don't go offroad. So you're going to prep and paint them at some level. Whether you like it or not...
