Well damn. Was looking for an excuse to go to Trail Grapplers.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD, and hopefully approved by the NSA.

In that case those tires look dangerously worn. Go see Chris.

Tires are good. CO wheeling is easy. A little white knuckle wheeling..Hard part is to not drive off the road cause you're gawking at the scenery.

Thanks David.

I'm starting to get a little apprehensive about black bear...

I have seen pictures of Black Bear Pass. This video puts it into perspective. I cannot believe I am about to drive out, and drive my truck on this road. WTF am I thinking?

There are other trails out there. Just buy some smaller tires from chris .

To keep your COG low .

; )

Black Bear is my favorite trail. Love the end. So awesome.

I know camera angles mean a lot, but does it really feel like you are literally driving off a cliff right there?

Thanks for thinking of Jace. And yes, he needs sliders soon. But tires are next on the list for later this year.

Anyone disconnected the CD changer to add an iPhone plug. Where did you order the cable and mount the plug?

Pretty much, but everything out there is freaky.

I got a little weirded out coming off some of that stuff in my buggy knowing I had no compression braking in my tranny (race designed) and no emergency brake.

All my families life was tied to a cast pedal assembly that I felt like I was about to snap off sometimes.....

Red got out at one point....

Ima go ahead and be a man (or maybe show that I'm not) and tell ya: Some of that stuff out there really, um, "concerned" me! It was great fun, and I'd do it again, but there are a lot of REALLY, REALLY narrow, REALLY, REALLY loose, REALLY, REALLY high trails in and around Ouray and Telluride. I mean, I'm pretty sure I saw Chinese people below from some of those trails!

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not real big on heights (even though I sometimes like to "challenge" my fear of them). That, or maybe it was because I wasn't driving and wasn't in control. AND maybe it's because we were in a Defender 90.

I don't know what it was. I'm just saying there must be a lot of big-balled, bad asses on here if they're claiming they weren't "concerned" at some point on their rides.

Again, I'd do it all over again, because it's just one of those experiences you can't explain unless you've done it. And it's SO incredibly beautiful. And the weather's awesome.....but, it's so friggin high.

There. You've now got an additional perspective to consider......

David thanks but now I'm not so sure I wish you hadn't posted that reply! :)

Not the pic, I've seen that...its your experience that worries me. I'm not real big on heights either, but am hoping being in a large group of locals will help in that regard...

I'm taking my GoPro, so I'll upload some dash-cam videos when I get back.

We loved it out there. I was really concerned the first time we were out there in a rented 4 cylinder Jeep Wrangler. The first big uphill we came to went up FOREVER. I was worried that it wouldn't have the umph at that altitilude to male it but it did great. The only bad spot we had was coming down an optional ledge near Poukepsi(so) Gulch in a little its 4Runner. The switchbacks aren't bad if you just concentrate on the obstacle at hand and stay cool.
