Is it a consistent sound or is it intermittent, like "wah, wah, wah...?" May sound stoopid, but have you checked all four sets of brake pads?Noticed it three days ago under 20 mph where sound can bounce of a fence or wall.
Sounds like metal on metal rubbing. I thought it was axle related but when foot is taken off gas and coasting noise goes away?

Any ideas ?

Thud is likely driveshaft grease.
Do it again.
