Yes I was confused......trying to deal with 2 kids and surf mud is beyond my ability. I was talking cubic yards for another bed we are building and typed it.

Very happy to provide comic relief though:doh:
A 100 full of these to the ceiling was heavy. Someone else can do the math if they want

Chris....I can do 238 push ups

Goodness, what did it say before? Must have been awesome.

That's a LOT of damn push-ups!

please tell me you don't think im serious.......

the only guy that can do that many push ups at one time is Bodean.

This is why I hate tech threads. Why the hell do yall want to discuss the difference between toyota brand oil filters and autozone filters when we have this much more entertaining s*** to discuss. No way No how a OME lift v/s Iron Man discussion trumps this.

I can do .5 push ups.

and BTW if two kids screw with your concentration, you are gonna be a awesome troop leader on the 38 parallel with those crazy Chicoms coming at you....

MUd is some serious s***.

Lets see...

If we multiply 238 push-ups by the cubic yards per cubic feet conversion factor, we should be able to determine how many push-ups he can do.

238 push-ups x (1/27) = 8.8 push-ups.

Martin, what is the verdict in your 100 series?

I finally had the adjuster come today and look at both of my cars. Neither of them are totaled. The LC is gonna get a bunch of paintless dent repair. The LS is getting a new hood and has to have some of the roof repainted. I dont know what the amounts are yet as i had to leave to go back to work before he was finished. They are going to mail the paperwork to me.

I am going to attempt to force them to repaint the entire vehicle since they will never be able to match up 10 year old silver paint. Will probably take the threat of a lawsuit...or even the filing of one. Wish me luck!!

Awesome..... totally totally awesome.

ohhhh man...I just laughed out loud uncontrollably in cubicle land....that's some funny stuff....I mean serious stuff.

Jeff yall got any openings? the 38th parallel is not pretty this time of year.

Help me think through this...what do you use?

Family is growing and I need to haul 3 rows of people to beach this summer. This is generating the need for roof or hitch storage.

Ok so there are 3 options:

1. roof top cargo box -- most expensive ($500ish), not all attach to factory rack, but most aerodynamic, lockable...but hard to store.

2. roof top soft cargo bag -- less expensive ($100-$300), attach to factory rack, not as aerodynamic, not lockable....easy to collapse and store (or even remove and carry into hotel)

3. Tail gate box -- attaches to trailer hitch, most have brake lights built in, EASY access, lockable, water proof......can get damaged if you aren’t careful backing into stuff.

EDIT
4. roof basket and water proof diver bags.....probably not cost effective.

Security for leaving it on a vehicle and storage aren't a big issue for me.

What do ya'll use, what have you found doesn't work? I am hauling typical baby gear and beach clothes for 5.

After doing your investigation, if you decide an aftermarket roof rack fits your objective, I have a "Defender" brand roof rack for a 100. It was on this green 2000 when I bought it.

yeah most hard shell carriers just don't look like they have the storage for teh $ you pay.

im leaning towards a hitch set up so it's easier to get to but may end up with a bag on top......

I used a soft case on top of my 80 series - very briefly. As Nolen points out, it's difficult to access anything you need, unless you're eight-feet tall and a contortionist.

I borrowed a "shin buster" setup to make a beach trip last year. Very effective. Way low on the cool factor though. I basically looked like one of those people who have a giant vehicle but still can't manage to get all of my stuff inside. Had to turn in my man card. It helped though that I have a pair of industrial storage boxes that exactly fit the footprint of the tray. Was easy to strap down and everything stayed dry.

I'd like to say just pack less stuff but that would be completely hypocritical.

Shin buster. Cheap and it works well.

Plus you can back into and bust up all manner of things.

Good info. Todd. I all ready contacted Andy about borrowing his shin buster. Yes it is a man card demotion, but if it gets the gear and family there then im cool with it.

I have just read over and over about the soft cargo bags ripping, leaking etc. and don't want to shell out money for a temporary fix.

I would LOVE to pack less stuff but due to a 2 month old and 2.5 year old I go beyond a bag of clothes to: stroller, 10 x 10 tent for beach, 3 portable beach chairs, fold up baby play pen/sleeping contraption, etc.

Gone are the days where the wife and I can pack one small duffle for a week, grab her 2 hanging clothes items and roll out!!!!

anybody else wanna chime in? otherwise it's a borrowed shin buster and some rubber boxes
