this thread had lost its edge again because of you Shush.

I have a Excursion, it is has nearly enough square footage for you to haul dirt in. I use a bumper basket because I can.

yeah basket is looking like the route we go.

WHAT are you talking about......beach packing is on the cutting edge of 100 series tech.....if you drove one instead of an Excursion you would know this.

Can I borrow your excursion to haul some dirt?

Don't dent up your tailgate by dropping it on the hitch basket/shin buster!

My ex did not know I had one in the receiver and did a 3 pt turn to get out of Strawberry park and the thing punched 4 holes in the side of a Honda Accord.

Buy or build one that folds up when not in use. Still a pain to open the back doors but way better than having to climb up on the roof.

Doubt it. The last time Chris loaned out a car for a beach trip didn't turn out so well.

I don't think the truck we bought has any skid plate system. Is anyone running one or have opinions on a manufacture of them?

If you are wheeling a 100 where it needs a skidplate you are screwing up.

Slee makes them.

Shush- I have a Yakima roof box that we use all the time on my 100 and on my wife's Tahoe. It holds a ton of stuff and is relatively easy to put on and off. Bought it used for $150. Welcome to borrow it. I also have a hitch rack that I used on a Yellowstone trip in '09. Like the box so much better for luggage and kid crap like strollers and such that you want dry and protected. The hitch rack is good for stuff like coolers and firewood.

Slee belly plate and front skid eliminates all worry about 2.5" short man syndrome. TC and tranny cost way more...

2.5"??? Damn!

You need a better spotter...

Or a smaller truck. The front tires started to slide off the rock, I tried backing up and tried everything, it was too slick. I got the door and almost cried. The other dents are from tight trails and not having enough lateral traction. I wheel my 100 much harder than most, and with its size and the GA/TN trails I run its just a part of wheeling. I am replacing the door panel soon, it's the one dent I absolutely cannot stand. I was going to buy a small rig to wheel and just use the 100 as the tow rig and DD, but considering the dents, I figure I'll just keep enjoying it and building it. I don't regret any of the dents or scratches, only the door. Which was a rookie mistake and in hindsight should of backed out and switched lines much earlier to avoid.
