So when I leveled the truck out, any load I put on it squats the rear badly.

I had 2 choices, OME lift/load springs or air bags. I like the daily look of a level truck so Air Bags are what is best for me.

Air Lift 100 kit for the 80/100 series is around $100 and a snap to install

Here is a shot of the "squat" with my pop-up attached. It has about 150# of tongue weight.

Install is a snap. I jacked up the entire rear of the truck until the tires are right about to clear the ground and place jackstands under the rear class 3 hitch bar.

Next, jack up one side of the axle near the tire and pull the tire, bottom shock bolt and sway bar bolt.

Let axle dow completely and pull out spring.

Remove and toss the rear bumpstop with 12mm and long extension Bolt is in the center.

Now, get a 3/4 step-bit (huge help) and drill out bottom spring perch to 3/4"

Stuff the air bags in the springs and attach the air hose. Feed hose through hole in perch then reinstall the spring.

Rebolt the shock and sway bar and put the tire back on.

Repeat on other side.

Make sure you watch the hose and bag when you put the weight back on the truck so the bags and hoses are seated in the bottom.

You can run the hoses to a T and one fill valve or fill each side separately. I chose to do each separately.

I ran hoses through perch, to sway bar bracket and through the frame to the back of the bumper. I drilled through the bumper right by class 3 hitch on each side.

I have 20 psi in the bags right now with no load. The rear is up 1". I shot it up to 50 psi and it lifted the unloaded truck 2"

I am going to test the ride to Tolleson's unloaded with 20 psi and see how it rides with a bit of air.

Mike -

I think we need to have an "air" weekend...I ordered up a Viair on board air system and I have been wanting to put air springs into the back of the 80...let's order up these air springs and make a weekend of it.

FYI There is an 05 LC on the lot at Herrin Gear Chvey place on 55 by the Infiniti dealer. It has 64K miles and is listed for 33K. its white with the gold trim.

I saw two in Ridgeland...both of the used car lots there..one on 51 where Ridgewood comes in (white/cream LZ, pre 2003) and one on Ridgewood Rd

The one on ridgewood is at Ridgeland Auto World. Its Sonora Gold Pearl and is an 06. It has 72K and is listed for 32.9K.

that's wrong on so many levels

oh my gosh I just split my side.......well played David.....well played

I have a decision to make. My in-laws have a 2003 100 with 78,000 miles which has been offered to me or my bro in-law for $20,000. If they go open market they want 22,000 (which might already be spoken for). I am really wondering what to do because it is a CLEAN truck. My 100 is rough enough to wheel and not worry too much. This one looks brand fricking new.

We have offered it to a friend with the requirement that I get first dibs. That might be my best option.

What should I do?
