Have you used the hotspot/wifi feature? I link it to my phone and use the built in apps like espn, pandora, youtube, etc.

The direct usb connection does not want to work with my iphone for some reason. Does yours happen to work?

Yes, I do connect to my hotspot on my iPhone to use WAZE. This Android unit came with EASY CONNECT installed and that's what I use to do it. It works very well. EASY CONNECT is the second to last photo in my post.

I had this installed recently. I’m still working out a couple of bugs with the supplier. It streams music nicely from my iPhone and the Bluetooth connects fast as well. Hope to get the bugs out then I’ll recommend it. It’s not exactly a plug and play. You need to remove a few circuit boards from the original system and put them in to the provided boxes that come with the system and integrate the boxes in to the rear portion of the Android.

I like it but it’s not perfect yet.

That's very interesting, but where did your heater/aircon controls go? Does this thing emulate the OEM setup? If so, I'm sure others would be very interested to see a link. Thanks!

Here’s a link below. The heater/aircon controls are accessed on the home page with its own page. It works but it has some bugs. I simply got it set up and left it in auto. But you have to run a bit blind while using the heater/aircon controls. Sometimes you touch the screen and nothing seems to happen but it does. Just slightly annoying. Hoping to get it ironed out in the near future.

I see BT45 pop up on my phone and have no idea how to access it. How does one access the BT45 in a 2004 LC?

@Bull Moose 100 thanks. will try today. had this LC over a year. duh...

It’s 2019, get a blue tooth, don’t mess around with fm transmitters. It’s such old technology and no manufacturers are investing in making it better, they’re just collecting $12 at a time from stubborn people who still connect a discman or refuse to make the move to bt. 5+ nods on this post alone for the bt45 and there’s dedicate multi page posts about how tried and true it is. Buy the previous posters used one if you’re trying to save dough

Does this have Google maps on it? How easy was the Install? Price? Thanks

I have a 2003 LX470 which came with a Bluetooth product without any documentation. Before I pull things apart to install a new unit, does anyone recognize the item pictured? Apologies for the grubby console.

do you have an update?I have heard there are issues w AC controls etc.

USA Spec BT45 Toy.

I added one to my ‘04. It works beautifully. I can stream Spotify and make/receive hands free calls. The steering controls allow you to receive calls and change songs. Song information even shows up on the screen. Essentially, the unit substitutes in for the disc changer (or at least that’s how I have it set up). There are two things I don’t. 1.) it tells me (loudly) that it’s connected every time I get in the car if it’s the selected audio source. 2.) the difference in volume with calls (quiet) relative to music (loud).

I can live with both issues.
This is good feedback. Are you able to turn up the voice call volume if needed? If you can turn up the volumeon the call, when the call ends, does it switch back over to the music and its blaring loud?

I'll just say this, the bt45-toy works better than the Bluetooth on the 2020 Ford mustang that I rented.

Thank you. Trying to see if the local best buy will install a part that is not sold at their store. I also know what you mean the ford. I owned a ford once....once.

Hi Bull. It's not that big a drama to DIY the install. And I suspect you will be happier with the result. You never know how good the 'installers' are. The biggest challenge likely will be pulling the plastic face plate out and also the facia on the A column going up to the roof for the mike. I recommend getting a set of plastic trim tools for about 20 bucks, and just go slow. I first did this on a 2001 and I thought for sure I was going to break the panel. It had not been moved since new. But kept at it and eventually got it out. I'd also recommend getting zip ties and 3M sticky squares to go with it so you can tie up the mike cable at various places under the dash. Just my .02. Good luck!

Wrong guy, but you can just clip the mic to the dash right above your steering column.

Remove the panel when it is above 32 degrees. Don't do it in sub-zero temps

Sorry about that Bull. Re temp, I was doing this sweat pouring down in the Middle East. It had just been stuck there for so long....and I'd never done it before. Re mic position, I prefer up by the roof for better sound quality.

being discussed in another thread, im still waiting on long term use of the unit, but it appear the OP has had it for at least a couple years

@Bull Moose 100 @John Young Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry in advance for dumb questions. So, I probably should have been more clear but on the 05' 100 series, I do have Bluetooth integration on the OEM display/headunit. for phone calls already, just not to connect Spotify- play music. I assume the USA Spec BT45 Toy device replaces your existing Bluetooth phone call capabilities? - this is why you guys keep talking about where to place the mic?
