As an aside, why do you want to take the LPG out? It saves a lot on running costs - they are thirsty beasties!

I ran a sceince experiment with the rusty number plate holder and molasses/water mixture. It worked pretty well, took 2 weeks. Washing the steel after was a bit of a pain, it gets a yellowey film over it once dried. The best part was the rusted screws, I snapped 2 removing the light covers. Once it soaked for a couple of weeks the threads were like new, I could pretty much unscrew the snapped screws with my fingers! Going to soak all the old non snapped one and keep for the restore.

I don't drive it often and would love the additional space. Gas isn't that cheap these days of here in Western Australia.

Fair enough, but I'm surprised that they installed the lpg tank in the cab of your truck. You should have the petrol tank under the seat, so plenty of space under the truck for the lpg tank (like mine). Could be that you could relocate the tank for the same price as stripping everything out. Just a thought.

Nothing major but firmed up the brake pedal. Thought the issue was air in the line, but after reading though this website and found the brake pad adjustment. Took a while to figure out the right direction but got there. Before adjustment, the car would pulled to one side when braking. The adjustment fixed both issues. Once again pretty happy with this little truck and how easy and effective it is to work on.

Mate, you may want to take out the choke cable & housing and look for any kinks in it. Drizzle some oil down the cable and into the housing and work it back and out until it gets smoother.

Cheers,
Davey

I've got an opportunity to buy a new chassis/frame. Is there any difference between a '77 frame and 10/74? Pretty sure my engine is a .5, are the engine mounts different between a .5 and 2f, anything else?
