...yup, that is the correct odometer reading on this BJ60 I found today on "Buyukada" ("Big Island") which is one of the Princess Islands in the Marmara Sea off the coast of Istanbul. My family has a house here where we are spending the next three days.
Beautiful rig. The City of Istanbul supposedly sent a picture of the odometer going from 999999-->1,000,000 to Toyota and received a certificate of the achievement. Original 3B engine, H41 tranny. No rebuild. That's what the mechanic working on the vehicle told me. True or not, not sure.
It is a work vehicle for the City of Istanbul Bureau of Forest Affairs. This island does not have any motorized vehicles except for the city vehicles (police, fire, ambulance, trash, etc.). No citizens can own any motorized vehicle. Everyone uses bicycles, horses, donkeys, or shoe leather express.
Anyway, onto pics of the rig....hope you all are well.
