More problems with my bud's '2009 GX 470. So yesterday he had a guy out to rewire a camper trailer connection and I was not too confident in his approach, especially how he chose to ground the trailer. Long story short everything seemed fine when we turned the GX to accessory to test all the lights on the trailer, worked fine, but then after he left my bud went to start the truck and he said nothing happened. I had a look and all lights and accessories work, but the only obvious problem is when you try to start you get a click and that's it. No dash lights indicate but I did get codes P0340 P0345 "Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit."

I was told by another friend that these trucks often kick out a relay that he described as "brake light/shift accelerometer kill relay" that burns out on Toyota's under similar circumstances.

Where is this relay?
Where should we start testing?

This turned out to be a simple battery drain. Charged at the shop overnight and worked great ever since.

I'm curious, with so many more GX compared to the LX, why do you guys think posts here get no responses while posts in the 100 series forum always get lots of replies? Are 100-series owners more likely to wrench on their vehicles themselves?

Most post in GXOR on facebook. There are considerably fewer active here. That said....never saw that before from a trailer harness! I just redid mine yesterday and all was well. I hope it starts! haha

Thanks much, will check over there as well for future GX issues.

Oh yeah, started right up fter the overnight charge and no problems since!

Odd. The only got wire is the battery one. Possibly got ground and Drew current? Such an odd one

We think that's exactly what happened. The trailer guys literally just left and did rewire some things so I think this is what drained it so suddenly.

Would make sense. It will draw a fair amount of amps so a 50Ah battery will go down in less than 10 hours assuming 5A draw.
