Well in May I bought an 08 GX470 KDSS Sport. I searched for this rig for quite a while and finally found one and flew to go pick it up.

Originally I wanted to go with Radflo suspension but I got a smoking deal on some used standard travel Icon coilovers with remote reservoirs. They are in really good shape and I picked them up for $600 so I couldn't pass them up.

The rig will be mostly street driven as it is my wife's vehicle.

Pictures will be up in the next day or two. So far I have only removed the running boards, reworked the harness for the running boards lights to run LED rock lighting under it.

Do I need to upgrade the UCAs to fit the coilovers in place? I was going to replace the UCAs at a later date, if I can wait.

That's an absurdly good deal. I'd have done the same. I believe the standard travel coilovers will fit with stock UCAs.

Yeah I really wanted to go extended travel but the price was right.

I am going to install the coilovers with the stock UCAs and see how it goes. It will likely be staying close to stock height until I get some rear coils and shocks, and don't forget tires.

you will be fine with stock UCAs on standard travel

All right we'll I have the shocks and coil overs I just need to rebuild the rear shocks.

Her is the rig she was driving before

I am now trying to decide what rear coils to run. The debate is between the icon three inch springs or the all pro 3.5" coils. Any input?

Icon...they are progressive and will give a better ride.

After researching I found the all pro 3.5 springs have a spring rate of 207. The icon 3" dual rate coils are 200 over 300. Just figured I would put that out there to be easier to find later.

Yeah, I REALLY need the Icons for mine in the rear...hoping to get long travel done sometime soon once the coin is available and convert to Icon from Iron Man (the ride quality is starting to matter to my old battered body).

If not carrying any extra weight I would have to assume that the all pro springs would ride a little better.

Just ordered the Icon 2 inch springs from metaltech. FYI they are having a pretty solid cyber monday sale, the springs were 20% off with free shipping.

Also I received the rear Icon shock rebuild kits, 2 kits were $45, and I believe I have a line on a local place to fill nitrogen. Hopefully I will be able to pick up some tires soon and get this thing going.

I ended up with the 2 inch springs as my wife's new job requires her to fit in a smaller parking garage.

That sale is killing me. I just moved cross-country and don't have suspension in the budget (especially since I left my truck in AZ so I'll only use it on vacations)...but it's such a good deal.

Trust me, I have had the long travel kit for front and rear in my shopping cart 4 times in the last 48 hours.

I finally installed the front coilovers. For now I just tricked the airbags until the coil conversion kit comes in for the rear. So far my wife can't tell a difference in ride quality so I will chalk that up as a win. Pictures will come soon.

Will I have any clearance issues running bfg km 255/75/17s on factory wheels with no spacers and factory control arms?

Finally have all the parts together to install the rear lift. Rebuilt rear shocks and charged them. I am working on getting some wheels and tires this week. Found some weld wheels I am really trying to get.

Needs tires badly.

I am having a really hard time deciding what tires to get. I can't decide between toyo, bfg, or cooper.

Here are the exact tires I am looking at:
285/70r17 Toyo Open Country MT
34/10.50/17 BFG KO2
285/70/17 Cooper S/T Maxx

I really liked bfg tires before I had a right front KM2 seperate and send me off the highway. My toyo tires have been awesome. I have never run a Cooper tire but it seems everyone on here really likes them.

Another picture. From ground to fender it measures at 38" in the rear and 37" in the front about perfect from one side to the oothe.

34x10.50s will likely rub with the plastic trim on/mudflaps. They will rub less than the 285s though :)
