I remember reading this somewhere years ago, but is there a way to bypass the "I agree" screen on the NAV so you don't have to punch every time you start the car? Thanks

Just an update to my own question; if you update to the latest maps CD ($10 from ebay) then the "I agree" button no longer appears. Glad to see they got rid of that in the later releases.

Hmm, I wonder if that's an '07+ Nav thing.I upgraded to the latest CD when I first got my '06 and it still has that screen when I start it up. Do you have a link to the CD you purchased?

06 - Same here. The nav generation changed in 07, so that's probably the difference.

What is the latest version? Does it fix the GPS time/date issue? Are these copied disks or oem? Links appreciated.

The latest disc you can use depends on what year GX you have. This is a Toyota/Lexus wide thing, not just a GX thing.

2003-2004 = Gen2/3 DVD. No new DVDs after U08 13.1

2005-2006 = Gen4 DVD. No new DVDs after 2016 U30 v 15.1

2007-2009= Gen5 DVD. No new DVDs after 2017 U41 v 16.1

More info here: Navigation DVD note: Gen 2 7.1 to 13.1 update ...

All of the DVDs on Ebay are either:

-ripped DVDs ($10)
-OEM DVDs pulled from junk yards. $50-150

A DVD is a DVD. There is no reason to pay more when the ripped one is the same. (Assuming it is a good quality rip.)

My only worry with dvd-r is longevity given they tend to oxidize quickly, and I can’t imagine the heat helps. Thanks for the version info. Where did you track that down?
