You did good!

Was the fitting of the bumper very difficult? Hopefully mine will arrive in June.

From the looks of it, our LC's will be nearly identical when everything is finished. The only difference will be that I have Slee step sliders.

Not really, Ken, just screwed the bumper in where the hitch was mounted, cut the resonator off and it was in.

Biff, nice pics, came out great! Got a little dirty up in Pismo huh? I am going to post my pics in about an hour or so, so maybe you can check them out too. Damn, I need those sliders

Victor...

Congrats man!!! That thing looks great. I lot different than it did at SnT.

Very nice hombre. I see you couldn't resist a short trip over to the sand :D

Yep had to get take a trip up to Pismo, had a little fun on the dunes. Looking  with my new armor.

Victor, you look much larger in your avatar. (maybe its just the red sweatshirt)

Bumpers look great !!!

Very nice Biff! Big changes, and nice ones, to that truck since meeting you at Pismo!

I'll get some pics of my new Kaymar I put on this weekend up tonight maybe.

Haven't put the tire carrier on yet tho. That's next weekend's project. Watched just a little golf this past weekend to do anything but remove the old hitch and bumper Sat and install the new one Sun.

Third time is a charm they say.

Question?

Ok the rear bumper looks good. But I saw a OEM Tire holder for a 4-Runner that was bolt to the rear post, and would swing the tire out like this bumper. Could you modify that system to work on the Cruiser and not have all the weight of this rear bumper?
I really love the looks of the ARB front bumper, but the swing out tire option might be nice.

No support in the quarter panel.

Dan,

Could you not put more steel in the quarter panel? i.e. steel plate, etc. where the bolts from the brackets would bolt thru. Just remove the interior panel etc, and put a plate in with holes drilled for the bolts for the brackets, typically it would not have to be a very thick piece of steel either. Just a thought Dan.

I suppose you could but the ammount of time and effort required to do a proper job would likely offset the cost of a Slee or Hanna et-al. In addition, the body-mounted tire carriers are damage-mulitpliers in a collision. All of the impact would be transmitted to the quarter panel and tail gates. An 80 series quarter panel is a thousand bucks, sitting in the box, before you add the bodyman and painter.

Victor,

Nice photos - How happy are you with the ARB front? Have you upgraded your suspension yet, and if so, to what? Now that I've got the Kaymar rear on, the front looks....well goofy. What lights are up front? They're kind of small aren't they? hehehe

Christo, ARB and TJM all make nice bumpers. From past reading and info, TJM is lightest weight? Consideration for me as I've only got the OME 851/862(?) medium duty. Mostly expedition for me, so don't know that I'd ever want/use/need a winch.

Anybody want to chime in with pros/cons of these three front bumpers? Other choices?

Brent,

I also have the medium duty, will probably upgrade to heavy or J springs in the future depending on how the rear bumper settles the rear suspension. The ARB bumper was the perfect fit for me, great looks and lots of metal which let me to go big on the lights- "Lightforce 240s blitz" that and the Slee aux. light harness are the perfect combo.

Must look like daylight with those things on!

How's the ride so far with the ARB/Hanna set-up?

You've done some great work since I saw your 'dented' front bumper at Pismo! hehehe When are you going to tell your wife you did that on purpose?
