I am wondering if any one has had good luck with the MAF shackle reversal. Likes, dislikes, etc... I tried to search through some old threads but didn't find anything to my liking. I have a 5" HFS lift planned for now. I am going to stay SUA. (Maybe..........) I want the S.R. in place just incase..... future mods bla bla bla............ Any way back to the question at hand.

I've got a set in the box in my shed, bought them off a guy when I picked up some other parts. Never got around to installing, but MAF does have info on their site for them.

Something about a picture being worth a thousand words or something...

The MAF S/R kits can clearly be seen in all three of these vehicles, and you can see where they are being used...

you're welcome....

:)

I like the bezel on the red one!

I have a MAF SR on my 45, I like it just fine.

Poser,
All three, red, yellow, and orange have the same style grill guard. Somebody make those a lot?

Sold through Man a Fre...

' aussie grill gaurd ' with square tube riser, instead of round...

Made by the same master craftsman that makes the rear carriers on all three trucks, and many more around this neck of the woods...

Dave is the man...

Good luck!

with a 5" lift I believe this shackle reversal will add another 1 1/2" of lift in the front. If HFS is using extended shackles as part of lift it might not sit level or you may not be able to find some extended shackles long enough.
just my $.02

Shackle reversal

Just finished a Man-A-Fre SR last weekend. Have a 4" skyjacker lift. Went to 2 1/2" front springs to keep it level and not have to do drive line mods. Works good on the road, have'nt wheeled it yet. easy to install, but those rivets suck to remove!

is it me, or does all these seem to lower the front spring perch a little too low?

They need to be that way to maintain the caster without moving the spring perches or adding shims. They do tend to get hung up on rocks compared to the more traditional method of swapping the rear hanger to the front which is often done with a SOA.

It seems like an awful lot of work to get 1.5 inch of lift. My personal experience is that it doesn't make much difference in handling either way on or off road, but YMMV, especially if you went to the trouble to do it.
