Just got the word that the TTORA AZRocks event is a GO for March 3rd-6th this year quote from email

".....AZ Rocks is a get together in Florence Junction from March 3rd-6th of 4 wheelers from all over the country that is hosted by AZTTORA. Some people will be staying at hotels, Some will be having fun camping out in the desert for 4 days with big bon fires and stuff.. The last one we did in 2003 was epic! There will be wheeling from difficult to easy. ....."

As a club, does CSC want to show up and represent ourselves at this event?

As a club, does CSC want to volunteer to help out with any of the event needs IE: maybe a couple of raffle prizes or something?

I plan to attend for all 4 days and will probably camp one or two nights. I live close so going home for a shower and a warm bed makes it nice. This event was great in 2003. I think that as many of us as possable should attend. This is the same weekend as the scheduled cleanup at the Coke Ovens, which is a scheduled run for the TTORA guys on each day of the event. I think that we should capitalize on the fact that the TTORA guys will be on site and have them help us out with our cleanup.

Waiting for opinions.

FYI

It is my feeling that the 2003 TTORA event was a hit and I would like CSC to hold a similar event annualy. The '03 event had over 75 rigs in attendance, with 4 runs each day. The more of us that show up to soak in the way the event runs, the better. It will help prepare us as a club to understand what it might take to put on our own event.

Cruise Arizona ~ I like the sound of that!

Sounds cool but it's a total rip of the Cruise Moab event. We need original with bite. Something new that everyone's gonna remember.

I was just thinking that it makes it sound more familiar and let's people know that it's a similar event, but different location.

In the Nissan offroading community they have "Gone..." like Gone Moab and Gone AZ-

Same people, same type of event but different scenery- Like RUSH said- what the heck is TTORA? It means nothing to most people, but most would recognize the Cruise____

Just thoughts

TTORA is the Tacoma Territory Offroaders Association. Used to be Tacos only but they've opened up to all Toys. Check them out at www.tacomaterritory.com

I'd venture to guess that they are the next closest thing to the TLCA for Toyota owners.

Thinking on your lines there Brian I do not fully disagree. But I still think that we need to set a new higher standard.

shoot a PM to Desert dude and he'll put it in when he gets back on or about the 20th.

Yes on the permits DD. Everyone should have one anyway but I'll get the info up here for where to get one. I'll also put up the link to all of their info for the event. This is their event so we should follow their rules. The TTORA base camp is about 2 miles east of hiway 79 off Cottonwood Canyon road. I plan to camp there and claim a large area for CSC to camp together. If they're using the same location as the Jeep Jambo then there's plenty of room to spread out. They usually post up GPS coords and very good directions. I will try to find them.

EDIT:
Just got this from Tim VP of the AZ chapter..."Glad to hear the cruiser club is going to join us - like you said, runs are welcome to all makes/models!!!"

Just to quell any concerns that we won't be welcome.

Dinner menu for Saturday night
Cost per person TBD. Last time there was alot left over so anyone who ahdn't pre-purchased dinner tickets pretty much got fed anyway. I would however recommend prepurchasing your grub tickets when they become available. I'll let ya know when that happens. FYI Karlton makes his living as a caterer (hence the screen name Fourbychef) He's a damned good cook too.

Sign up sheet. I'm down for Medium on Thursday, Hard on Friday, and of course easy on Saturday. Sunday is an open day for whatever we want to run. I might run a group up Lower and Upper Ajax.

I hope to see some of you there. I'm planning on hitching a ride with a friend as co-pilot lol. (Unfortunetly, my Taco is being sold and my 100 isn't built yet) I can assure you that you will be welcome by the TTORA folks. They love Toyota 4x4's of all types, and the club is actually open to ALL Toyota off-road vehicles.

Mostly, I think you will have tons of jealous people drooling over your rigs:)

Regards, Bryan Trailmaster TTORA-Socal

Bryan,

Recognized your screen name on the new TTORA Cruiser BB. Glad to see that you'll be out for the event. Stop by and say hey.
