Real simple question. It has been posted here that the transmissions (both the bus and the "weaker") seem to never break. Just curious why Christo would feel a need to cary those real nice trannys?

good ?. are you actually having some problems with your tranny?

From what I see on Slee's site, it appears that they sell Wholesale Automatic Transmission's valve bodies for supercharged, turbocharged, and engine swap applications as well as for those desiring different transmission behavior. These pretty much just change the shift points and or the shift times in the automatic transmission. These don't make the transmission stronger per say, but adjust it's behavior to be more desirable in different than stock situations.

It's somewhat similar to chipping a vehicle's ECU.

Oh let me think about this and I will chime in...... :flipoff2:

Just wanna make sure my response is rational and not off the cuff...... :flipoff2:

Be back later...... :D

You might not see the 343 as that tranny wasn't available in Australia in a LC. These are the Australian ones right?

I believe Rodney was on the hunt for some 343 cores at one time. These remans offer 440 and 442 owners a attractive alternative to a new OEM or some indendant shop. Toyota does not offer remans for those transmissions.

No, nothing's wrong with mine (knock-on-wood), which is what got me thinking. Plus, i remember reading on other threads of how these things just don't seem to break. I'm glad that Christo has the option out there if you wanted it, just was curious.

What is the drivability of the Slee improved tranny?
Would the wife like driving it?
Is it Walmart proof? :flipoff2:

Kurt,
if you go to the 3FE forums on yahoo the guys there who have installed it love it. I am not sure on the specifics of hwo it works but you could also go to the vendors section and look for extreme transmissions. The company that Christo is importign through.

We have a shipment comming with 1 a440, 2 a442's and 1 a343. As Dan mentioned, these are an attractive alternative for rebuilding or replacing with Toyota oem.

We do not expect them to fly off the shelfs, but they do fail and people want to replace them. We decided to carry them, mostly from recomendations from people on the 3FE lists. All that have installed them or the valve bodies are happy with them.

Well, if mine breaks (which i hope it doesn't) it's great to see you offer an exceptional alternative to OEM. I was just thinking these suckers don't break.

I thought the valve bodies were provided to insure better crisper shifting, they state that less slippage and wear should also lengthen the trannies life especially under the conditions of rock crawling.

Stay far, FAR away from Level 10. I'm not repeating a rumor either... I've had BAD experience with them in customer's Supra's...
