Tellico Trailer Question

I will be heading up with the boys from Clemson so we will likely be coming in from Murphy. I will have the 40 on a trailer behind my F150. Will i have to leave the trailer on the NC side or is Trail 1 smoth enough to drag the trailer with the 40 across to Bid Oak Cove?

Thanks
Michael

IIRC trail 1 is just a FS road (improved). I think you could pull across, just have to go slow.

Just found out Big Oak Cove is closed for the season and, there are a few other large groups going up there at the same time. I doubt State Line will be a good option.

I will go to Big Oak Cove first just to check it out. Plan B will be the North River Campground. From state line go west through Green Cove pass Spivey Cove on the right. The next dirt road on the right goes to North River and there is a sign.

OK 5 days to go and Dave needs everyone at his place Thursday to put his truck back together. Anyway there are 5 or 6 sites at the state line before big oak cove that we should try to get before going all the way to the N. River. MY .02. Lets get ready to trail ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What route are you georgia boys taking........... you going from Muprhy or the tennesse side..... it'd be nice if we could meet up with you guys somewhere along the way and follow you in..........

3 more trucks for the mix

Rob and Roger Theurer and I will be at the trout hatchery (Rob's a hatchery guy) for the weekend. So add the Tin Lizard and a pair of 6.2 diesel 40's to the gang. We should be ready to roll by 10 or so Saturday morning.

Hi Dave, I was just looking for your e mail addy. I was hoping to see Rob up there and planned to stop by hi place. Good to hear you are comming.

Looks like the 40 will be running. 5.5 hours motor out, motor fixed and motor back in!

Final Count from Auburn, AL - 2 people and 1 FJ80
Fire wood is going in first, then beverages, then everything else that fits.
Leaving Central time around 1 to 2ish. Making our way through Atlanta around 5 eastern time, then up. I realize that is late. Anyone going that way at that time?

OK, since it is very hard to get a final number on who will be here Friday for dinner. let's do this. Everyone bring their own steak and potato for Friday night. I will bring the grate and the stuff for preparation. Saturday night we will eat my world famous chicken mull on toast. Sunday night will consist of unbelievably great chili. All breakfasts and lunches are on your own. Remember, bring your own steak. If you want me to pick you up one, PM me.

I am going to try and come "down" for this event. It is approx. 550 miles one way and I need to check on two things:

1. Do a quick check on LC3 and make sure so can handle the trip. I will do that tomorrow afeternoon after work.

2. See if I can get Friday/Tuesday off from work. I was reading the thread and suddenly realized it was "this weekend", not next weekend. Where does time go?

I will bring food/firewood-primitive camping is okay with me. Did it for too many years in the army as a grunt. I will post tomorrow if I am going to try and get down there. I have a stock '71/3-speed/30-9.5s. I know she's not a rockcrawler-just looking for an adventure with her.

Leaving from Dave's shop

Let's get a head count on who is leaving from ULC Friday morning. And what time we want to leave.

Matt

Me and a friend.
80+40 in tow

My dad
Bronco+trailer of firewood etc

My dad may be leaving with us, but will split off to swing by the cabin and meet us up at Tellico.

Hope you make it. I will be in the 9/72 factory softop, bone stock (except for PS)

David, you in a bone stock truck-this could get interesting....I'm bringing lots of film!

What camp site are you all checking out first, should we all first meet at the Greencove & then go from there...just a thought?

Brian, There is only one road and a grand total of 3 possible places for us to camp at. If you make it all the way to state line and dont see anyone then we are at North River. Meeting at Green Cove will be rather complicated. Call me on Friday and we will coordinate schedules.

wish I could be there David...
