Are 100 wheels hub-centric?

Anyone know 100% if our 100 wheels are hub centric or not. I thought they were hub-centric but its a little confusing to me since the lug nuts have the large flat washer...but the end of the lug nuts are tapered...

Adventure Trailers are coming down home stretch with my trailer and need to know which style of wheel mounts they need to match to...

I always thought our 100 wheels were hubcentric but I don't think so anymore. I remember there to be a lot of play between the hub ring and the wheel. None of my other vehicles that have known hubcentric wheels have this kind of play--the two mated securely. If there is play, then the wheels aren't really working the way hubcentric wheels are supposed to work.

Furthermore, the 100 series lug nuts are a shank style where the wheel is centered on the lug nuts. Yes, the lug nuts are tapered at the tip but the mating surface is essentially a shank. The hubcentric wheels I am used to have conical lug nuts and no shank.

Check your wheels and tell me what you think. I've since gone to wheel adapters and therefore not hubcentric at all.
 
I spoke to Christo this A.M. and he said they are Hub Centric.

Trust me they are hub centric - you've never had to beat a corroded wheel off. PIA.

I agree with you the stock wheels are not hubcentric,because of the play and i have had atoyota master tech told me that too.After market wheels are different because they come with tapered lug nut.It you have after market wheels on your LC and suffer from wheel vibration,make sure you get the road force balancing.This balancer by hunter is totally amazing.
 
I'm not 100% sure whether they are lug or hub centric but this topic has come up before with no definitive answer.

There is a Toyota TSB (SU002-96) Wheel Balance Adapter Kit

"9/2/1996 - All Toyota Models. To improve the accuracy of Dynamic Off–Car wheel balancing on all OEM Toyota five and six lug wheels, a precision wheel adapter kit must be used. For the greatest accuracy and repeatability, Toyota recommends using the Haweka adapter kit available through the Toyota Approved Dealer Equipment catalog. The kit consists of a precision ground centering cone for truck alloy wheels and a flange plate."

The Haweka Adapter is listed as one of Toyota's Special Service Tools.

The Haweka adapter has 5-6 finger thingies that mount the wheel to the balance machine via the lugs and without the use of the center bore. If Toyota is saying to balance their wheels using the Haweka Adapter, aren't they saying to balance the wheels on the lugs? Lugcentric?

Sheeesh...so I'm right back where I started. Please don't think that I don't appreciate all the input because I do...but even the local Toyota dealer can't prove it one way or the other!


There has to be a definitive answer to this question from Toyota...wouldn't you think?
 
Lug eccentric (by me) for our steel 16 x 8 wheels in OZ
EDIT I actually call it stud eccentric

The 100 series uses the same lug nut as the 80 series later model. Lug centric uses conical washers to center the wheel on the lugs. The hub centric uses the washer/shank style. However the shank/washer style nut does have a little taper at the bottom to help with centering.
