Did mine many years ago - with a 87' FJ60, everything was just a plug-in to the existing harness so pretty straight forward.
Looks and works very well -- whenever I am on the trail, I put it down.
When I looked a year or so ago, I was not able to find any off-the-shelf aftermarket solutions. A custom built one would likely easily cost you twice as much as just getting a used one from wherever, cleaning and painting it...
I have had Wetokole in my rig since the 90s and it has held up pretty well. I got grey and black to match my interior (looked nice) and notice the grey shows dirt or other things you may spill at bit more, so if I was doing it again I would order all dark colors. At least for me, the seats...
My 9/86 production date (87) FJ60 had a skid plate -- something like below (actually 2 OEM skid plates welded together in pictures).
Would be surprised if your year didn't come with something similar - every stock LC I have owned came with some kind of skid plate.
Don't know that it every...
BATTLECRUISER OPERATIONAL
Thanks to all, also @mongoose2231 for literally saying look for burnt out carb fan wire hanging there... found carb fan wire hanging beneath Cruiser (view from below, looking up).
Based on some mud posts decided to just ground to frame (hack I guess, but I will...
It is a stock 2F, still has factory smog. Think everything was refreshed and dialed in about 12 years ago, seems like yesterday.
I'll look at the items you all suggested., thanks!!
Large puddle of oil underneath the rear diff, so I wiped it off and was able to observe oil coming from around one of the lower bolts.
Pulled off the cover.
Diff cover on the bottom was a bit mashed, edges seem a bit sharp...
Also found a bit of spongy rubberish debris.

I often do a similar thing with my 60, strapping my spare down in the back using d-rings I have in cargo area-- I also have a removable bumper carrier, but on tight trails it can get in the way, plus I suspect having all that weight hanging down in back may sometimes make it a tad harder to...
If anyone has the White Knuckle sliders on their 60, can you please post a few pics of the positioning of the u-bolts on frame, especially driver side.
TIA
Reinstalled my bumper swing away arms after at least a decade of sitting in the barn--think I got it right. Senior moment putting that tire up there--that was friggin' heavy, almost went and got my son to help but knew I wouldn't live it down if I couldn't do it myself. With that hi-lift I...
I channeled "Project Wrong Way" this weekend,--replaced the rear liftgate supports on the rear hatch, Armor All'd and put back the cargo area panels I removed years ago, and spray painted a few trail scuffs -- all the while ignoring the mission critical mechanical issues keeping my rig off the...
The starter is a new NAPA installed today. I had the battery tested and they said it was good. There is no noise when starting, no indication that it is trying to turn over/crank.
I'm getting lighted dashboard indicator lights, but no crank at all when I try to start the 60.
Starter and ignition switch were replaced, and as far as I can tell all the wires to the starter and battery are secure without apparent corrosion. Ground from battery also seems tight.
Any advice...
Silly questions but how does the steering column cover come off? I thought it would split in half when I removed 5 screws but it appears to only split on the right side, not on the left. I adjusted the steering column tilt but it doesn't seem like it would be easy to get it off in one piece...
