Bump..... Double checked the EFI Main Relay. There is continuity but I can find ranges of what is acceptable posted. It's showing .02 resistance. Is that normal?
Any other ideas on what could cause 12 v to be getting to the rear well when I jump it at the open circuit b+ and FP but getting...
All- I've read every post on EFI / fuel pump issues but I can't figure this out after weeks of tinkering.
I've replaced the open circuit relay. Tested the EFI relay but still no fix.
Here's what I know/have done:
1. At the connection in the drivers rear wheel well the wires were corroded so I...
I've used about 10 quarts of this stuff over the last few years. It has been great but I'd never just put it over a totally rusted surface. This just increases the chances of poor prep. At a minimum I always use a wire wheel on a drill to get off all the scale and as much surface rust as...
I have some knarled wheel studs and need to straighten out the threads. Anybody know the size and thread pattern off hand so I can swing by sears on my way home from work?
I'm guessing 12mm with a 1.5 pitch???
I'm wrapping up my knuckle rebuild and two of the felt retainer ring pieces are rusted all the way through....
I need to get this thing on the road and was wondering if I can pull two off of a 40 series or minitruck or something else to hold me over while I order the parts from cruiser dan...
I spent all of yesterday with the multimeter and think i have narrowed it down. Seems that when my MAF is plugged in, I get the hissing sound and my fuel pump runs but the truck won't start. By jiggling the MAF wiring around my Check engine light came back online.
With the MAF unplugged the...
What really has me confused is that I haven't had a check engine light for 2 days since it died on the highway. https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/240261-dd-ignition-issues-cont-died-left-me-stranded-today.html
I just got a check engine light when i put in the key and it did start...
My check engine light isn't coming on with the key in the on position. Is there anything to check besides the EFI relay and ECU that would cause this? Anything in the MAF sensor, wiring harness, etc that I should add to my list of things to check?
Unfortunately I ordered my FSM last Monday. It should be here next week. Hoping to have something pinned down by end of day today....
I appreciate you guys taking the time to offer up suggestions.
Replacing the coil tomorrow I guess. The primary resistance is double what it should be. (Secondary resistance is right on) Not really convinced this is the issue based upon what I've read but I'm starting with the easiest things first....
I read every thread on ignitions last night and D'animal definately seems to know his stuff. :D
I did notice yesterday that when I let off the gas it sounded like a selonoid was switching off. When I was playing with the efi relay last night it made a very similar sound when I plugged it in...
Seems my probllem from my previous thread runs a bit deeper than I originally thought.
https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/239592-dd-wont-start-after-tune-up-please-help.html
Today the check engine light blinked every time I let off the gas on the highway. I was accelerating onto...
I tightened up my belts hoping they were the cause of the ringing/whistling sounds....
Seems the ringing is coming from one or all of the accessories. Is there a kit to replace the bearing on the pulleys or am i looking at having to buy new parts? I havent had any issues with the accessories...
Thanks for all the help/PM's on this. It seems the issue is somewhere in the throttle linkage.... On a whim my neighbor played around with giving it gas while starting and it fired up on the very last try at 11 last night. Its idling high unless i pull back on the linkage.... guess I'll be...
I'm at a complete loss.... I checked the coil and everything is tight and connected. Any other ideas? I cannot figure out what else could have gone wrong.
