It is amazing how much better the low gears are now! I always thought first gear in low was still a little fast when you really want a crawl. This makes up the difference. The 100 series has the power when rock crawling unless heavily loaded but man I can not say enough great things that...
Moby dick is still doing good. Here are some recent pictures of it. An interior shot, high five at Toyota Jamboree, and the transfer case low range reduction gears. Now it has rear locker with 4.88 gears and 3:1 low range. Gets better with age.
Took some guts to cut off the camera mount on the Slee bumper tire swing. Once I hit it with the cut off wheel it was over and so much easier to load cargo and bikes on the truck. Wish i had done this from the beginning now.
I have had zero issues with leakage. I have even tried to blast water into the cracks and it has not leaked.
I like the EMU windows with my setup. Which is a drawer system in the back cargo area so the floor is actually reachable from the window. I also sleep in the back of my land cruiser...
I'm out this year. Baby due in June which is real exciting but dampens knowing I won't be in Sliverton. Best event with the coolest friendly kind.
Have a Great year!
I checked the resistance on the downstream O2 sensors. One reads in ohms 13.3 driver. And 13.1 pass. Someone said they should have 16 ohms resistance? Is this right? I am about to check the spark plug torque next. Ordered some cataclean so that will be third. Any help?
cj10, yes the bolts are lower than the rail but i have not had any issues. There is a chance of damaging the threads on the bolts and even when i was wheeling my 100 series more than i do now i never damaged one. Check out some of the measuring photos closely and you will see some scrapes on...
Lots of time with a grinder for the front leg angle. Use two jack stands to hold up next to rocker panel then cut and grind.
The gussets for the frame mount is 3/16 plate.
I have had a few people show some interest in making some sliders like my custom rectangular tube step sliders. I used 3/16 wall 2x6 steel tube and 2x2 support legs. These would be super easy to make and weld to the frame if you never intend to take them off. Which would be the cheapest route...
I have over 290,000 miles now on my 2003 LC and had some time this week to do a little work. First started with the coolant leak at the thermostat bypass at the front of the engine. Ordered the O-ring and black gasket maker to make the repair. I drained the radiator and pulled the thermostat...
