I bought this valve looking to do the FJ62 electric to manual conversion and sold the truck before I did the modification.
Spook50 has a great write up on the install.
LONG OVERDUE transfer vacuum valve conversion writeup
$50
Tough decision but Ive decided to sell the truck. Sits in the garage these days and I really dont have the time/money to do what I want with it. Ideally, a H55 swap would make it perfect. With the 33's its a bit of a dog on stock 4.11s.
1989 62
180k ish miles
No rust, paint is in great shape...
Got a lot of new directions in life at the moment, and taking care of the 62 doesnt seem to be in the future. It sits in the garage these days and doesnt get driven. I would like it to get used and go to someone who really wants to take care of it. Some of you have seen it, great condition 89...
Thinking of selling my 62 this upcoming year, and going to a 100 series. The truck is great, but for my future needs (towing, long trips) I wont have the time or money to do an engine swap anytime soon with the 62. I want to continue with a 100. Good/bad idea?
I have the front seat covers in Grey Endura from GTCovers. In great condition, went to BMW seats so I no longer need them. $125 shipped! Sell for $238 from GTCovers
SOLD
Im likely going to be going 33's shortly. Saying this, Do I need to regear both front and rear right away? Its a 62, and Ill be going to 4.56. Stock of course is 4.11. This could get alittle more expensive than I was planning if its true.
OK saw a post on the 60 series forum about some of our 60s being 30 years old. Got me thinking about my 89. It's 25 years +, and I'm eligible for antique plates. HOWEVER I know your not supposed to drive them everyday when you have these plates. Looking for your guys thoughts on this. I know you...
I purchased this back in the early summer, and was hoping to get more use out of it with the family. Well my wife DOES NOT enjoy camping, so its killed the dream. I cant see keeping it for camping alone. I have used it a handful of times. I made a improvement to the tent by adding another...

Any good campgrounds that way? Id like to do a simple overnight-er before it gets to tundra conditions. Im looking more Catskills, just dont have any experience up there. Going to be using the RTT
Had some rusty paint chips I decided to fix on the 62. Small spot sand, filled the chips and wet sanded the areas with foam covered 2k sanding block. After sanding I noticed a few of the spots actually sanded through the paint! Im no expert at body work, but I didnt think alittle 2k sanding...
My 62 is pretty much rust free. I did a good wash today and found a nice section of rust forming on the lower drivers side, right below the windshield. I cut a section of the gasket and found I really should have it repaired correctly. I need to come up with a quick fix for now so I can go...
Hey guys, Ive talked to 2 of you from the group. Name is Steve, live down in Lancaster, and I have a pretty clean 62. Looking forward to hitting the trails and meeting you local guys. What do you guys recommend for comms? I dont know if I want to install a full CB, since Ill most likely never...
Did a good clean up on the engine. Replaced water temp sensor, new water pump, full desmog, new tps with kickass adjustment, new injectors and seats, super clean TB, you get the picture. I get a lean CEL during highway cruise, and ONLY during highway cruise. Does not happen every time I get on...
I have read not to try and fix chips/scratches in winter due to the paint not drying or adhering. I unfortunately had a section of the garage door put a small 3-4 inch long scratch on the roof. The scratch itself is beginning to rust. Id like to fix it, and I have some paint in the garage. I...
OK, replaced the water pump and I cannot get a hose to seal. FJ62 its the lower hose that runs from the rear heater back to the water pump, just that short section. I purchased 3/4 ID hose, used a screw clamp...leaked when the weather got cold. Thought maybe the screw clamp was s*** (even though...
Pulled the injector to install a new one and found carbon had found a home. Good chance Ill be blocking off the EGR now. Just as long as pinging isnt an issue (only 60 problems?)
