It's been a while.
I recently had significant machine work done to my 2F. It's now all rebuilt. Previous owner said 11 years ago that it "may" have an aftermarket camshaft installed. I asked the machine shop to give me the specs on the camshaft when they had it out and reground it. This is...
wondering if anybody within the lower mainland could help me source a part for my carb, specifically looking for the throttle positioner/diaphragm. if someone's got a complete carb, i could take it off their hands as well.

i'm completely rebuilding the carb.
i believe i'm having problems with my secondary circuit. i get hesitations when going up hill or when i'm under load, kinda like hiccuping and bucking, i can feel it coming through my foot against the gas pedal slightly before it...
looking to buy a working aisin carburetor for my 2f toyota landcruiser. i'm running a 77, but i believe a carb from 75 and up would apply. looking to spend somewhere between $25-$50.

anybody know the max operating temperature for polyurethane bushings?
i was looking up flexane 94 for making motor mounts. the spec sheets state a max operating temp of 180°F. it seems pretty low, but now i'm wondering if common polyurethane bushings are similar.
also wondering what kind of...
anybody know of a way of securing this style of an elbow to an aisin carb? the lip isn't that great of a clamping surface on the aisin's, and i'd like to make use of the threaded rod that the stock air cleaner assembly uses.
just wondering how everybody's hard drives in their laptops are holding up out on the trail, if anybody's ever had to get one replaced due to vibrations, dust, etc.
with the common gm 4.3L tbi conversion, i believe the throttle bodies are 2 barrel 670 cfm. somebody correct me if i'm off. i have been looking up universal throttle body units from holley. they make a 670 cfm 2 barrel and a 700 cfm 4 barrel. has anybody done a tbi conversion on their 2f using a...
aaah. my cruiser has got some body damage. got hit on the driver side, the tub is bent up, the front fender is bent up, the cowl and firewall are bent up, the foot step looks like a tortilla chip. the door is screwed.
this f-in sucks! i've made an appointment with icbc to get it looked at...
77 fj40. as of last night, i have an issue with my driver side turn signal and brake lights. when i tap the brake, my driver side turn signal goes solid on the instrument cluster. i weighted the brake pedal down and checked the exterior's and they're staying solid along with the brake lights...
is there some sorta trick? it started out as just remounting my speaker, then i decided to take the panel off cause my window regulator teeth are stripping. only got as far as unbolting the glass channel from the regulator. i tried pulling the glass up and out, i noticed the bottom rear corner...
77 fj40: ya my cab smells of gas pretty bad. i've double checked all the fittings to make sure they're snug. can't find any leaks, no smell under the hood or from outside. it's major when i have a full tank of gas. i'm guessing either a vent hose is plugged or i have the fuel separator not...
for all you canadians out there, anybody have experience with the welders that princess auto sells? i don't know jack about welding, but on the back page of the new catalogue it's got a welder (doesn't say what brand) for $177.77 i shoulda brought the flyer with me to work, i believe it was a 90...
i just got a wicked deal on a donaldson air cleaner/filter off ebay. wondering if anybody here on the forum has used one on their 40, and if so, where did you mount it? i'm not sure i'll even use it, but i fooled around with placement ideas. it's too big to be mounted under the hood, i'm thinkin...
i've done some searching about the diesel swaps that have been completed in fj40s. but nobody really mentions a price. would i be able to swap in a diesel into my '77 fj40 for relatively the same price as rebuilding the original 2f? maybe a 1hz swap would be a good benchmark, considering the...
wondering if it's necessary to remove the tranny hump to replace the clutch. this will be my first time dropping the tranny and transfer. got all the parts i think i'll need, looking to dive into it this weekend. if it makes the process a hell of a lot quicker, i'd rather keep the tranny hump on...
